We're surviving. As my wife says "we are having first world issues" - no electricity internet or cable. Hanging out with the generator running and propane fireplace "roaring." Bay window sealed with wood probably has to be replaced, deck looks like it needs a lot of work after the tree was removed, gutters , roof issues. Insurance adjuster stopping by Sunday. Could have been a lot worse considering I was three feet away from the window when the tree came through it

I replaced the clear side markers with LEDs today. Looks good Car still in garage.

When the roof was off we discovered the upstairs heating and AC needed to be replaced and as long as we were replacing one compressor we might as well change the downstairs compressor as well - we had replaced the heating system the year before when the basement flooded because of the hurricane if the year before. Well that was another $25k. And before we redid the landscaping, we should paint the house-lest it get trampled by the painters. Another $10k. And if we were fixing the driveway, we should replace the garage floor and doors (it did need it and my baby lives in there) and we should lower the apron so I would not hit the front splitter when getting out in the morning and repave and...another $20k. And we never want to go 2+ weeks without power again so that was $12k for a generator. And then my wife decided we need a new kitchen - the crew comes next week - $150k. And we still have not done the landscaping. One thing leads to another!
Oh God, is that how it happens? Well doesn't insurance cover a good percentage of that? Man, a C4S worth of renovations and repairs! Good luck and I have to talk to my guy about the garage apron. Just learned something!

Congrats on the side markers. Hope you get a good adjustment. Don't be shocked if they lowball and you need to appeal! Good luck!

The Porsche is in the garage. The honda generator is running right behind it - as we have no power.

How many days until spring?
Scary stuff. We also had a lot of limbs down here on Long Island. Lost power for 10 hours earlier in the week, but we also have a generator. One of the best purchases we've made--got us through 13 days off the grid during Sandy.

Generac or Kohler...the Kohler uses the same engine as the Generac. We're going for a Generac 20kw running on LP.

Thinking the same. Here in Malvern, power still out. If you don't go to COSTCO to buy your whole house unit, you need your head examined. $3200 includes LP unit and transfer case/switches, just add install. Glad you're okay. Every time I go down to my garage to check generator I look at my GT3 and sigh...

We have a big Kohler whole-house unit that runs off of the house's natural gas supply line. Generac/Guardian is also popular, but I've heard bad things about their reliability. Our Kohler unit is literally a 1.6 liter GM inline-4 car engine in a case.

Costco? Good idea. We are still out in Glenmoore. Sorry to hear you are out too. Seems that PECO is playing a game going for big outage number reductions at the expense of rural suburbs. We're in Chester county and on my twice daily drive to Wawa to buy gas for the generator (note to self buy another 5 gallon can) I pass the single down wire responsible for our power outage. Propane fireplace on. Cable and internet restored.

Ha! We must be five miles apart. We're on YSR in Chester springs and still out. Been driving to Sunoco twice daily at 401/113....in my Cayenne.
You see that PECO is yet to repair and open 401?? That surprises me.
Glad u have internet. Hang in there.
