Getting cold feet! Anyone with Sapphire Blue Metallic?
Ok so I guess buying an expensive car is like getting married, it's all cool until you have to actually walk down the isle.
I have been playing with different combinations of a silver with red interior, but now that I am almost ready to walk into the dealer, I am wondering about a blond or redhead that might be more interesting. I saw a few different combinations of the Sapphire Blue Metallic and wanted to see who has it and if they like it more or less over time. It is a bit loud, but at least it stands out, it's a Porsche and should stand out. I keep seeing so many silver 911 but you really have to look because they just seem to blend in to the road. I have never had a silver car and not knocking the looks, but sometimes it looks dusty or like dirty white. But when it is clean and has something like buildings to reflect off of it, it looks killer, and it kind of has a lot of Heritage with Porsche, so that is the dilemma, it's a pretty safe color to go with.
I think it looks great with the duck tail and black painted wheels, kind of a retro 1973 RS look and the Aerokit looks great with the silver wheels, and with the yellow of the PCCB, which I am sold on, and the matching yellow gauges and seatbelts, I think it is a great combination, kind of like when you buy a Ferrari, you assume is should be red, same with a Porsche, it should be black or some loud color or with graphics!
Anyway, here are some pics that got my attention, man, too many options and choices.
Anyway, chime in good or bad!!

It's such a personal choice... I think you just have to have find something that makes you go.. "Oh Yeah" when you walk up to it.. And for some that may be a brunette, blonde or a redhead..
If you need some encouragement, I will tell you that blue looks stunning! I saw one on a lot when I bought mine.. And it really does pop and sparkle..
But at the end of the day, make sure that when you see it you will always have a lustful eye toward it.

I've got the Aqua Blue. I still love it and get compliments all the time. Now I've got shoes that match. The sapphires a bit lighter than aqua, but I still love the color.

Here's a turbo that came in a few weeks ago. Like everyone else said, it's entirely up to you. I think you'll enjoy something different. Us blue ones are fairly rare compared to most colors that are white black silver and agate grey.

The more I look at the pic of it in the sunlight, the more I like it, but what I really notice is how much different it looks without the black vs painted lower side body panels. But I guess the black could be replaced for cheaper than having to keep redoing the clear protection on that part of the body. I wish I could get the ducktail with the standard from bumper and add the painted sport spoiler! Porsche seems to be very flexible on some options and not flexible at all on other options to mix and match options.
Also, I don't think there is much advantage to ordering the Sport Crono package with a manual transmission and no sport suspension? Well, other than a $2500 clock and stopwatch by the time I add the yellow face option. Anyone know what advantage there is without PDK and PASM, SPASM? Not ordering it would offset the upgrade to the Burmester, I seem to be getting more shrewd in my ordering of options as I get older, maybe we all do learn the hard way about checking off every option! On a BMW you can get away with it, but I am learning with a Porsche you can almost double the price of the car quickly!
Thanks for the input. I really liked the looks of the Red interior with the Silver exterior, but with the tint on the windows, it just doesn't stand out enough and not having to add the extra cost for the leather interior, I can feel better about the PCCB that I just gotta have!

I have sapphire blue with the gray interior but with black carpet. I like you wasn't too sure and initially chose dark blue. After I saw a aqua blue when my son was at Kobe camp, I took a chance and changed it right before my lock date. I couldn't be any happier. When I step into the garage, I fall in love all over again. But then again, I love skittle colors when it comes to fun cars. I actually have a gecko green jeep. In the end, it's a personal choice.
Probably not a huge value in the SC with manual other than the dynamic engine mounts.. I constantly question the value of SC with PDK.. but in the end I got it..If it dissappeared from my car I'd never know the difference other than the extra clock on the dash..
I guess with M7 you get the sport+ throttle curve.. And the shift "blips"..
Interesting on the PCCB.. Haven't seen it installed on a many regular C2S and C4S as the "red" brakes are pretty effective. But I do understand wanting certain things..

Thanks, I am glad you caught all that haha!

i went through the same dilemma as there's something abt burnt orange that appeals to me but as a daily drive wondered if id get sick of it sooner than the car itself. i decided to go with white as thought the ducktail and glass sunroof looked sunning together plus later it would be a good base colour if i wanted to wrap the car. all in all a personal choice. do whatever will keep YOU happy. now that its my 2nd p-car u realise interior (colours and comfort) and equally important too!!
aqua blue was my second choice. I have seen both and I tend to like the slightly darker aqua over the sapphire. But that is just me. The sapphire blue was stunning and, when clean and properly polished, offers so much more richness and depth of color compared to PtAg.
I don't think there is a wrong choice here. If I were doing a rich blue, I would think strongly about a darker interior than Luxor. Again, that is just my opinion, but a cognac, cashmere, or even a saddle leather color would be where I would go. And I would swap out the bright work in the interior for parts that matched the exterior color - saw that on a yellow and black 991 and loved the visual impact - this is my likely build color combo if I go for the Targa next year - likely will keep what I have, but that never stopped my from thinking about what if!
Enjoy your choice and whatever you do, no regrets! Decide, love it, and never think what if!

i have the aqua blue and i'm still in love. Life is color imo so my cars are colors. I have rarely gotten black. Usually blues, greens ,reds and sometimes dark grey.
I constantly get compliments on my color choice and while that doesn't really add value to me the smile i get when i get done with a detail is my real reward.
If you like blue cars you won't regret the blue on a 911.

when i was first researching my 991 i was almost certain that i was going to get the blue model, i think it wasnt this blue though as the one i saw was a bit darker. however that blue with platinum 19's, front lip spoiler option, tan interior and yellow dials was stunning! it also had bi xenon black head lights. it reminded me of a Ferrari.
