Birthday present for a 911 ?

No kidding. Porsche sent my one year old car a suitable birthday present.

Alert observers will notice this is a Panamera key. However - it's actually a USB drive packed with marketing material - in particular for the 991 Turbo and GT3.

I have to give them full marks for trying...

Sweet. I remember seeing another one of these on the forum. Nice little surprise after a year of ownership.

I got something similar, but it was to sell me the 918. I got a hardcover 918 book, keychain, and Porsche stainless steel water bottle.

That's actually very cool, IMO. Granted, it's just a marketing strategy, but I'd be ecstatic those first few seconds staring at a free Panamera.

I got an offer for a discount on service if I brought the car in during a snowstorm...somehow not the same.

Thanks for asking Chuck.
I had it back for a week but returned it to Porsche's bodyshop to have a few minor things sorted out. I was to pick it up on Friday but left the car with them as I was still not happy.
They phoned yesterday to tell me that they are stripping the car again to realign the body panels around the front end and that it should be ready on Thursday.
I know, I know, I'm German. What can I say. I want it perfect. I know I'm probably a royal pain...

Rainier
