I do like the looks of the 4S better. You gotta love that big ole rear end with the connecting tail light!

I can justify $2k for looks alone and the rest for safety buy that would only be for those 5% times we are on wet roads, etc. I want to but the car that will maximize the 95% use of the car

So the real questions would be...

1. what am I giving up with the 4S over the 2S in terms of performance as a touring driver?
2. If I am not giving anything up from 2S to 4S performance wise and I can justify $2k in looks, is the other $5k increase in price worth the peace of mind knowing you have an AWD sports car?

Thanks again!
Just faced this same dilemma and decided to go with the C2S. If the two cars are the same 95%+ of the time, why not spend that add'l money on creature features - we all know it's pretty easy to add another $7k in options. That will make a more significant difference in how you view/feel about the car than AWD or not. Good luck as I know from recent experience it's a difficult choice.

zumforward is infamous around these parts
I'm the one contrarian here who actually prefers the looks of the C2(S). And although the difference is negligible most of the time, I also prefer the way it drives -- with a little tighter front end placement and a little more "swing".

I live in southeast Texas (Houston) which is similar to Florida. No snow, and if someone spots an errant ice-cube off the road somewhere, the whole city shuts down. I have no need for the AWD, especially since, like you, I'm not one to compromise on other options.

I'd say save the cake and indulge the other stuff.
