991 PDK Paddle Owners - Feedback Please

Been messing around with these for months and months to come up with a inexpensive solution yet function for those with the PDK Sport Design Steering Wheel (paddles). Making an entire paddle shifter that is larger out of billet is pretty complete or even carbon. Plus this involves removing your steering wheel, airbag, etc... Nobody got time for that! So we came up with this slip on carbon fiber paddle shifter that fits over the factory aluminum ones extending it about 1 inch top and bottom and about 1/2 inch outward.

The piece is made in 2 halves with 2 layers of carbon fiber with a glossy clear coat finish. The inside section is trimmed out so you can slide them over the stock paddles. There is then material on the inside so it is a snug friction fit. We even put indentations on the front and back to give it a bit more sporty feel.

So my question would be, would you buy these? The price point would be pretty fair. We are making them here in-house and want to know if this is a product that interests people. The nice thing is that it fits all PDK Porsche 991 Carrera and Turbo, 997.2 Carrera and Turbo, Cayman 987.2 and 981, Boxster 987.2 and 981, Panamera, and I think Cayenne with the factory paddle shifters. I have fit them on both my 991 Turbo and my Panamera Turbo.

So comment away!

I can understand the usefulness of your solution but I will be honest.... to me they look ugly and a bit like putting elephant ears on a gazelle!

Sorry.

Very few folks have carbon fiber accents in their cars. So it may look out of place. IMO, I would prefer something in aluminum. But I am not sure this is a high priority for most. The OEM shifters are pretty nice.

I also agree with Haku.
Anyway, you did a nice job, but to be honest, i don't see the benefit of larger paddles in a setup used by Porsche. If you look at other brands, like Lambo or Ferrari, they have the paddles on the steering column (better setup IMO) and in that case you want them to be large.
As long as the paddles are on the steering wheel itself, it makes no difference IMHO. I think the standard paddles are just fine.

I DD my car and its my track car. The OEM paddles work well and I don't feel the need to oversize them.

Good feedback... We have done these in the past for M3's, Audi's, and the Tiptronic. Purely look.

Vivid, I just re-read my post.... whilst I may not like the carbon paddles you showed, I think I was somewhat brusque! Apologies. I can't take anything away from you for giving it a shot and asking for feedback. So points to you!

I love the Ferrari 458 paddles not sure if it would look correct on a 991 application.

Aesthetically they just don't seem to "go" - have to agree that OEM look and work well.

Perhaps a carbon fiber fake third pedal would be a nice addition as well...
