If your are interested in doing your on detailing, I would highly recommend taking a trip to South Florida and taking this class. I wish I had done this years ago. It would have saved me tons of time and money.

BTW is there anything I can use to protect/enhance the finish of the platinum wheels?
I used Opti-Coat 2.0 on mine. I took them off, spayed with Iron Out, clay barred, Wipe down with 30% Alcohol, then apply Opti-Coat 2.0. It's a permanent coating. It will darken then every so slightly and add a tiny bit more sheen, but the difference is very subtle.
I never thought I would "meet" someone who is more into detailing than I am

Depends on what u mean by "detailing" your car since there are so many facets. Washing, claying, polishing, wax or coating. Not yet. That darn Collinite will hold up for months, so you'll have to wait until the M3 gets here in September.
About to run outside to layer with another coat.
Good luck!
PS: and my car is white as well...Stuart is a REALLY smart guy when it comes to his detailing products!
I still use wheel cleaner. My new favorite I got from addysdaddy recommendation is 1Z Einszett ColourTec. Spray it on, wait until it turns purple, then wipe it off using various tools.
