Although I do not agree that 'it will be here before you know it'....It is a LOOOONG, exhausting wait from order to delivery! Eh eh

Congrats, now the hard part, waiting!

I remember my wait, watching 991 vids all night, getting on every forum and buying unnecessary detailing equipment! And that was just the first two days!

I have had many sports cars over 40 years ( first one was a mid engined two seater in college that I had modded with big valve head, dual 42 mm Weber DCNFs ) and many 911s over 30 years incl chipped Turbos and my next one will be a heavy " slow " C4 Cab .

Over the years the first thing I got bored with was any car's speed , no matter how fast , on the road.
To me, a well thought out car came to become one that was as fun to operate at part throttle or cruising as at WOT.

Enjoy and savor every drive, not how quickly one gets from point A to point B , because ....just like that , one day you awaken and realize you are " old " .... so in my case I decided to retire early in my 50s .

Congrats on the order from a fellow "base" C2 guy. They are truly great cars in any trim. No matter what model you have - from a basic boxster thru a 991 Turbo S every drive will put a smile on your face. And that is what it is all about.

Love this. Speed/acceleration are nice of course, but handling is what sells me - unflappable cornering, poise over potholes and expansion joints, progressive slip at the limit. All the stuff that inspires confidence and reminds you you're driving a German machine...and makes the journey as fun as the destination!

DAY 1
------
Dear Diary,

Placed my order today. I am happy and content. I will await the arrival of my P-car with patience, being mindful of it's creation from mere metal, plastic and rubber into a beautiful machine. I will visualize it's journey across the oceans on it's way to me, 3 months from now, a mere blip in a lifetime.

DAY 2
------
Dear Diary,

WHERE THE FRACK IS MY CAR???!!!?!! 3 TO 4 MONTHS???!!!! OH MY GOD WHAT AM I GOING TO DO UNTIL THEN?? I'M GOING INSANE!!!! O.M.G.

When you finally get your 991, take the SF north run to Marin through Lucas Valley Road to Hwy 1 on the coast on a mid week drive or head south down the coast on 1 past Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz then back up the Peninsula via Hwy 9 to Skyline Blvd ...pure Porsche heaven and you have never left the greater Bay Area!

Congrats, man! That's a lovely build and you're going to love every single moment of it from day one. Can't wait to see pics in the (near?) future.

Oh yes, I've been bombing down those roads for 20 years, can't wait to hit them with my first P-car! Also, Mines Rd in Livermore!

Hahaha! That is exactly how it is.
I watch videos of 911s all the time. Even old ones when I can't find any new. I have also bought detailing stuff.
