New Owner query ... What do you guys do about the interior storage ???

Good Day lads,

i'll be getting my new Carrera S 2014 in May. I just wanted to know what you guys do about the lack of storage in the center console. Its my first Porsche and in all the cars i've owned before had the cupholders in the centre where usually keep my phones/wallet/keys. I dont usually open the handrest lid very often.

I've opted for the non-smokers package to give me err.... some storage space. Do let me know how you guys handle it.

Your choices are the ash tray, the door compartments, the center armrest compartment, or the glove box. The glove box is the largest inside storage space, really.

Must be your first German car....lol

You want cupholders, get a Toyota. My Tundra Pickup has (7) in the front and (4) in the back seat!

I use the center arm rest compartment for my sunglasses (a Rayban case just fits in there) and use the door pocket for storing my phone. Glovebox has the most space, but of course it's harder to access things left in there.

I typically carry that stuff in my pocket or in the door pocket. I don't like to do the later because I'm to dumb to remember and leave my stuff in the car all the time. That's why I keep it in my pocket...

I keep most if stuff in my pocket, keys, wallet, and such. My sunglasses sit in the open door pocket in front of the speakers. Anything else large I'll place in the back seat, laptops, small grocery items, wife must have her diet dr pepper!

An iPhone 5 will just fit in the center coin tray, I also skipped the smoker's package for that reason.

I find that I used to store all kind of craps in the car. Now, I'm much more efficient with things - only wallet, cell, and key. Sunglasses in the center console.
Make it nice and tidy.

This was my biggest problem with the 911. I understand that other manufacturers, particularly American cars, have (if you ask some, unnecessarily) designed interiors with tons of storage space.

However, I do find it amazing that there isn't a single compartment easily accessible that is large enough to fit a cell phone. I just wish that the center "compartment" was larger than it currently is.

Good or bad, I'm used to it, and I either keep my phone on the passenger seat, or I leave it in the door storage compartment. Bluetooth connectivity and PCM text messages make it easier to live with the lack of space.

You bought a 991 and you are concerned about the lack of storage. What do you want to store. Just get in drive it take your wallet sunglasses and you are all set. Oh yeah don't forget the keys. Anything more and you are a hoarder.

Yes. Lack of practical space is a slight issue. Obviously not enough to make it uncomfortable.

I dont understand what's the point of criticizing the OP as he just bought it and asked nicely...

Nicer people are obviously faster....!

My buddy with his 991S carries his man purse. Sorry, not for me, I'll just use the passenger seat for my briefcase and sunglasses and cell phone.
