Which Wheels?
Which Wheels?
I know it comes down to personal taste but as my delivery draws closer, I'm oscillating on which wheels to go with. I have the opportunity to select either set and money aside...my problem (haha) is I like both designs & don't think there's a wrong decision here. The Classic Carrera is exactly that and long term I doubt that I would tire of them. But the painted Sports Design rims look racier and supplements the whole black & white theme-though not sure how I'll feel about them in 4-5 years. Also, I think the painted Sports Design version are a little less common, which works for and against you. I would appreciate your thoughts.

I have the Sport Design which I had painted a deviating colour (Red) in Vancouver for 1/3 the price of having the factory do it. The Sport Design wheels are, not only wider than any of the other wheels by 1/2" and are much easier to clean and you can easily clean the inside of them without removing the wheels from the car.
The wheels in the second picture are the painted Sport Techno wheels, I believe. I have them unpainted and like them a lot. They would look awesome painted black!

I like both, but the Carrera Classic wheels just have a beautiful, classic look to them. And you don't have to have them painted as they already have a beautiful two-tone contrast to them. I've seen them on a white 991 -- they look incredible.
I feel the same way. Geez, didn't think I was going to have a crisis of faith yet it appears I am. lol
For your particular build, I prefer the second wheel choice ; sport techno. It looks sportier and more aggressive. The classics look fantastic also but more "luxurious" and less aggressive. Depends on the look you're going for.

HotHonda - nothing to say but WOW!! So love the Duck Tail.
LPB - Think that about sums it up. And if I'm honest with myself, I went the luxury route on my build so I'm leaning a bit more to the Carrera Classics.
Chup - Can't go wrong with a 5 blade rim - been around forever.
And ladies & gentleman...here lies the problem. In another day or two, I'll be throwing darts.

Obviously, this is a matter of taste. I was deciding last minute also wether to switch from the Classic to the Sport Techno. In terms of black/white combo, the Classic is surprisingly dark inside with a polished face. So it's not just silver. I think it's balanced and classic as its name implies.
The "directionality" of the Sport Techno never grew on me. I like balance. So I would've considered a straight five spoke more. I do find that it looks better on darker colors. That being said, it is slightly wider with a more aggressive stance on the rears. My solution was to get spacers (7mm front, 15mm rear). Problem solved. No regrets.
You can't go wrong either way. Unfortunately, it's hard to find lots of Sport Technos on the road so you can see it in person.
