Slight issue...

Sometimes when I go to start the car it just turns over for a bit and doesn't start. If I turn off then right on again it starts up right away. It doesn't do this all the time just every once in a while. Going to have dealer check it out but thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone else has experienced this?

How much fuel do you have in the tank when this happens?

Sometimes a car will stutter if the fuel tank is close to empty.

Doesn't seem to be a gas issue. It's weird, it only does it randomly. Going to have them check it out when I put on the summer tires and rims in two weeks.

Could be a camshaft or crankshaft position sensor issue.

I had a bunch of change-over valves replaced on a recall campaign. I had that issue happen once or twice before replacement, but it has not happened since.

I had this issue once with my 7MT. Dealer was not able to replicate it. As I recall (this was about 8 months ago), service tech suspected that after the original engine misfire, the engine was flooded with gas from the fuel injectors and therefore wouldn't start. The engine would crank a bit but not turn over. Hasn't happened in a very long time, so knock on wood hope this issue is over and done with. OP, definitely get this checked out as it shouldn't happen on cars like ours.

let you fuel pump finish priming before you start. turn your key to 2nd position so all the lights and cluster, etc turn on. you will hear the fuel pump make a humming sound, once the sound is gone fire it up and you should never have that problem again.
