Does this pipe go to cabin heater core?
Rooting around under the dash I noticed the pipe in the pic is quite hot when engine warm -- almost burned my fingers 
.
I guess this pipe carries engine coolant to cabin heater core?
Pic faces up under dash -- above gas pedal (visible lower right corner).
I was checking under there to see what I was scraping the tip of my dress shoe against. Turns out it is the air outlet over the gas pedal. Surprisingly little clearance to shoes (I wear size 11) -- seems more like an Italian car design "feature" if you know what I mean....
