My loaner for 2 days

The most convenient dealer, in terms of location, for me gives crappy rental cars as loaners. I got this for 2 days... I like the service department and my advisor, but the rental car bit is a bit annoying.

I got a crappy one from Fremont and complained about it. They do have MB loaners if you ask in advance. I find stevens creek seems to have better loaners.

I got a Ford Fiesta from San Diego Porsche when I had my 997.1 C4S.

Brought my 2012 TTs in for check engine warning light repair few days ago and actually got a Pany.

I guess in my case you had to reserve ahead of time but come on, they can do better than a Fiesta (no knock) but I did spend over $3k for services.

This is a Penske dealership. All Penske loaners nationwide are contracted with Hertz. They usually try to have better premium rentals, but Murphy's law had it in for me on that day.

Sometimes my head spins reading this forum. Reality check....

A few years ago I got devastating cancer. Terminal. Long story short, I beat the odds though it was a terrible surgery and long recovery and I'll never be 100% again but ya know - I'm good enough. Now days I get in my Porsche Cab, put the top down and enjoy the ride. The color of wheels doesn't bother me, high fidelity out of the radio doesn't matter, my seats are not heated, and there's a twinge of wind buffeting - who cares?

Last night I was out in the car, the moon was full, the top was down it was 73 degrees and life was just spectacular. And it would have been just as good in a Ford Fiesta, or on a bicycle.

Some of you guys have never Danced with Devil, because you whine like little girls about the smallest inconvenience.

Life is indeed what you make it. I try to remember every day I'm living the dream no matter what happens. Thanks for the reminder. Life is good in my '93 bmw with 129k miles on the way to school. Life is beyond amazing driving the Porsche. We are so freaking lucky to just be here.

Congratulations! And thanks for the reminder that every day we have here is a gift to which I would like to add that we are not supposed to bury our gifts in the ground...rather, we are supposed to use them to make this world a better place.

May you enjoy all your days!

I get what you are saying and it makes sense but that is not an excuse for the dealer - a dealer should always give a comparable car as a loaner

A cayman S would do the job for me

Yeah, lucky our dealer always gives us a loaner of the same brand. It's one of their selling points to get you to return to them for factory service. Wife gets an Audi and I get a Porsche.

Thank you for putting things in perspective!!! And, good on you for beating the cancer!!!!!!

At Beverly Hills Porsche, they do not give a loaner when you get your car serviced...you have to rent one. Anyone who gets a free loaner car when they are having a servicing, is very lucky...whatever the brand, model may be.

Perspective people,perspective!

lol enjoying this thread. I too have heard that Stevens Creek is the place to go to if you want to go home with a nicer loaner. I would care much more about other aspects of service (i.e. how my car is treated and that the service provided doesn't have me coming back the next day finding something wrong). Then again, at the premium price we pay for our cars maybe we should receive somewhat nicer loaners? At BMW you only ever receive another BMW as a loaner.

But do remember it is only temporary and it should make you appreciate what you have that much more. There are those less fortunate that will be behind the wheel of a Toyota all their life.
