The Porsche Service Information manual says normal operating range in normal mode is 221 deg. The fans come on at 226 deg. In sport, temperature is reduced to 185 deg. 241 seems a little high to me. I would try sport and see if that brings it down to 185. The DME controls the thermostat so if it may be a defective DME or thermastat- or perhaps air in the system somewhere.

Chuck, thanks - great information. I was driving in sport+ mode when it heated up. The first time it occurred I was in sport mode. Perhaps defective dme. I think I'm done with the current workshop - they give great lip service but no actions and I drive 45 minutes to get there - only reason being I ordered my car from there. Will try dealership 5 minutes from my house next time...

I thought of this post when watching this video.
Any chance your radiators might be in need of a cleaning?
