Camera 2014 C4S Cab It really works

We had the new NAVTV camera installed today and I am impressed. Turns on automatically when car is put in reverse, has gridlines, image is in color, and the sensor images are an overlay on left side of screen. Total install time of less than 2 hours by Don McAllister from Orlando. Having had the older model in my Cayenne which was a joke, this one is crisp and it works!

Does that come with a camera or is that sold separately? What was the total cost?

I am assuming from this comment, that you had the factory parking assist? I was curious if there were any visuals that would not activate when NAVTV installed in a car without factory sensors....

Also, regarding the camera- was that also a NAVTV product? They sell one, but I was looking at other vendors for the camera.

Great to hear you are happy with the product! I am planning on doing this install myself, when I get an afternoon free. Installation looks very straightforward, with the most tricky part for a DIY being the removal of the PCM unit from the dash. I've done this part already, so second time should be easier....

Can you see the parking lot cement wheel stops, the park assist is worthless for that? One would need a camera in the front, has anyone tried that?

More info

I will try to paste a video image later. Installer said you can add a front camera. It would need to be manually activated however. Also location for me is a challenge as it would block speed sensing cruise control eye. The camera he installed is the "better" one from NAVTV. It looks like a small wedge and is mount between the two license plate lights in the picture.

Yeah I was hoping to do a two camera installation.. I think the system that the OP referenced only handles one camera..

However with most of these camera systems you can put a video multiplexer in line, to swap the video based on a separate switch. But in this case since the backup video is selected to the PCM display during backup it wouldn't work well for a forward facing cam...

So what you really want is a two video input capability, where only the rear is selected on backup. .

I emailed about capabilities and got a cut and paste response.. Asked a following up question and got no response. So far not impressed with cust service aspect..

Actual porsche offers front and rear sensors plus a much better camera for 1.5k.

I used the best navtv camera they made on my last car. It still isn't HD quality like the OEMs and it is worthless at night. I even paid extra for the night vision license plate frame.
