Back to the lovely 911 world!
Back to the lovely 911 world!
Well after selling my first 991 and going to the 981 Cayman S which I loved I made a huge mistake and traded it for a new convertible Vette. Fully loaded Z51 3LT package. Had everything you could get with a 7 speed manual. I HATED IT!!! They did a great job on the redesign, new interior leaps and bounds above the older C6, looks that I learned to love before purchase. First few days were great. It just isn't the drivers car that a Porsche is, no way around it. I loved my 14' Cayman S, best car I had ever owned and I have had pretty much every car out there up until the $200k+ Super Cars. It speaks volumes for the wonderful Cayman. I went back and forth for a few days trying to decide if I should go with another Cayman or another 991 911. I figured since I loved both but thought I needed more power when I had my first 991 I decided to go with a 911 S.
Started the search and right away I found the "perfect" car. It was white with the techno wheels, aero package, nav, Sport Chrono, Sport Exhaust, PASM, PDCC, Power folding mirrors, Carbon Fiber trim, 18 way seats, 7 speed manual and glass roof, etc. Not too much, just right. Bought the car via a Dealer near me and they bought the car from the Dealer who had it in Detroit. Well, truck shows to pick it up and the car is gone. They sold it out from under me. Not happy to say the least.
Search begins again. I get really lucky this time and find the "right" car within an hour of searching. Make the call to negotiate and get a better price then I expected. Hopped in the car, did the paperwork and now I wait for delivery on Thursday!
I can't wait. She is pretty much loaded up with everything. Wasn't really looking for everything under the sun but she had it and price was right. 2013 with 1200 miles, just had the first service. CPO and saved a ton of money for a car that has barely seen the road. The only thing I do not like about the car is the steering wheel. So if anyone out there wants the heated, stereo control wheel with Carbon Fiber let me know, looking for the sport wheel either in black with an airbag or Carrera Red so I can use my airbag.
Anyway - no post talking about your new car is worth anything without photos, so here you go.
Glad to be back!!

Thanks! It really does say a lot for the car and the brand. Nothing, IMO beats a P car. As I said, I have had pretty much every car under $200k and I have yet to find one that beats it, some are close but very few. Just feels like home to me.
Can you expand upon a little bit your choice choosing the 991 over the Cayman S?

Wow that is a lovely build! I would stick with the wheel if I were you. No need for paddle shifters and the aluminum on the sport design wheel would clash with the rest of the cf trim. Just my opinion of course. I am a huge huge fan of the blue / red combo, especially the cf. you got an excellent build there, better than the one they sold under you! Congrats
Nice Build!
I agree with ArashApollo that your wheel looks great, and should not be changed.
It contributes to a real High End Porsche look.
If anything I would just look into the Steering Column Cover in Red Leather.
It's an inexpensive option and should be an easy retrofit.
