Traded Bessy!
Traded Bessy!
Hi guys,
I just traded my 2012.5 991S cab for a 2015 Audi A3 2.0T Quattro. The 991 is awesome, but as an early adopter, I had nearly two years of amazing fun with her, over 16,700 miles. We had a last trip together all throughout eastern WA state, Idaho, and Montana..no tickets the entire ownership, it was just a perfect time with Bessy.
I paid cash for Bessy back in 2012 and feel it's okay to let things go and move on to experience something different every so often. Also, I am back in school for another degree with at least two more years of classes, and the thought of driving the 991 to campus really didn't thrill me.
Before the two year leases on 12's came back and while it was summer and a cab could sell, I decided to let her go to delight a new owner.
The 7-speed manual 991S was the most amazing experience I've ever had in car - she won't ever be forgotten. I've got the little 2015 A3 to drive (which is a hoot, and we adore the car) and a check invested for the remainder of the equity and things are as they should be, wife and I are happy, (she's a part of this too, my partner in all things) - she's named the A3 "Sassy" already. lol. If you get a chance, try one of these new MQB platform A3's. It's an amazing car-tech ride, feels like a small lux racer, she's just perfect for what she is.
So until the next Porsche, it's been an absolute blast being an early 991 adopter with you all and see you next time around!! I plan to be back in a Porsche in a few years, looking forward to seeing what will be available.
I'll be reading your adventures!

Interesting..I wonder how many of us have sold or traded inside of 2 yrs? I've ordered a Boxster GTS and am trading my '13 991S I've had now since 7/31/12 with 28k miles. Love every minute of it just need to satisfy my ADD.
Enjoy the Audi, Nicoli.

I was really hoping you used your bessy money on 2 yrs tuition lol!
Well, enjoy your sassy and hope to seeing you around. You've been such a great 6so community contributor and member ...I can't believe you let her go
Stay in touch brother and best of luck in your 2yr degree.

hehe thanks..I will totally miss Bessy all the time, what a car!!! I just have some priorities right now that need addressing
That last trip I took just made it all okay. It was the perfect run. Porsche will still be here, when (or if) I have an income to responsibly support one.
Until then I will be around reading your adventures and modding this baby A3 tech gonzo machine. I hope AWE will make an exhaust for it soon, I like the twin single pipes on either end of the rear, and I'm sure there are coil overs and a tune for this 2.0 Turbo engine, Audi uses it in a lot of cars. It's definitely no Porsche however. Ye Gads I miss the flat six howl but for once in my life I gotta be smart about something and do the work needed to get that howl back.
The wife was okay with me keeping the 991 (bless her), but really, I wanted the equity out before I drove her over 20K miles etc etc. Just a simple economic thing, not dissing the 991. I truly loved Bessy.
Luckily I still have my Vag-Com cable to plug into the OBDII port. Sheesh since 2010, I've owned a 2010 A5, a 2009 C4S, a 2013 S5, and a 2012.5 CS before this 2015 A3. I might indeed have car-attention-deficit disorder.
