Tech Art paddle shifters from Sharkwerks

I have the MF wheel and really dislike the shifter buttons. I also like the carbon steering wheel. (I know most here don't) So I ordered the wheel from Suncoast sent it to Sharkwerks and had them put on the paddles. I could not be more pleased. They work exactly like the regular paddles and I have the MF buttons and the carbon bling that I like. Everyone from Sharkwerks was extremely helpful. They got the Tech Art Parts faster then I could get the wheel and had the paddle on the wheel in one working day.

The one thing I overlooked was I wanted to switch to a black wheel but forgot the air bag unit is still Luxor. I am not sure if I will leave it or spend the grand to get a black one. (ouch)

Sorry for the original pictures. I replaced them.

Well, if you decide to spend a thousand dollars to replace something that you can probably leave alone, or paint yourself, let me know. I've got some swamp land in Phoenix I will sell you.

IMO,, too much going on visually ( 5 colors/textures ) with the item you stare at the most of you entire car...that steering wheel. I would have gotten luxor/ carbon wheel to match the interior ...Looks like your car has carbon on the dash , right ? ...cant tell by the " vintaged " pics you posted
can you exchange the wheel vs spending another thou for black airbag ...couldnt you transfer the paddles yourself in that case ?

Man, you need a new camera! Those photos look like they're from 1972.

I am not sure what happened to the pics. There was some odd setting with my phone so I took new ones with my camera, sorry.

I like the black wheel it is the air bag that bothers me. The steering column is black and so is a lot of other stuff in the cabin. I can't return it anyway now that the paddles are installed on to it and it is not an easy task to put on those paddles. I know you can dye vinyl but have a hard time believing it will match or look good.

The CF wheel and paddles look nice. The airbag, im torn.

I think it looks acceptable, but on the pictures it also sticks out.

I think it looks fine as it is and would not change the airbag. Too much dough. I had thought about the paddle shifters too, but did not pull the trigger. Glad it worked out for you.

I like it the way it is and wouldn't change it even if it didn't cost a grand.

Hmmm. Wonder if they can change mine to a heated steering wheel. I've been told it can't be done on a 2014.

Sorry for the highjack. The airbag hub color would drive me nuts.

If you're going to do this you have to change the airbag color. With the mis-match of colors this looks like a salvage yard special!

The wheel looks great, but I would have to have the ab module to match. What if you plastidip it? I've never used it myself, but I've seen others on here that were happy with interior bits after an application. If not a long term "fix," you can more easily decide what to do.

I'm a fan of the light and dark interior contrast.

Good luck!

MKW had a great suggestion.
Get the Luxor/CF wheel.
Then sell that Black/CF wheel.

The contrast of Luxor and CF on the wheel will increase the effect of the CF. I think it will look much better.

That Black/CF wheel w/ paddles will be easy to sell.
List it and see what kind of offers you get.
Is it Part# 991-347-980-08-A34.

How much were the paddles?
Do the buttons still work (or do they get disabled)?

I would be tempted to change my Sport Wheel to a CF MF wheel w/ Paddles.

I actually like it. (But to be honest I would not set out to change my car that way.) Compared to bright orange rims, and giant spoilers, this is both unique and subtle. Its really not that different from deviated stitching, or colored seat belts.
One easy thing to do would be to just Photoshop one of your pictures, and change the AB module to black. Then you can compare side to side and see which you like better.

The paddles were $900 in sliver and I think it was close to $300 to install them. As I said I like the black wheel and to get a new wheel and mover the paddles over would cost way more then an airbag but you are correct I could probably sell the black wheel pretty easily.

The buttons for the stereo and MF display still work but the buttons on the front for the shiver don't.

Thanks for all the advice. I am in no hurry but will probably eventually get a black airbag and black floor mattes. I never like the Luxor wheel or floor mattes.

So the Tech Art Paddles do disable the original shifter buttons?

You could still sell the original luxor wheel and airbag on ebay.
List them spereately but still cross reference to each.
Body-shops and car-resellers buy that stuff for repair & reconditioning.

I kind of wish I had MF buttons, after driving a loaner car that had them.
