Having a bad day

I'm very upset that my car has a serious problem. Its a 2014 C4S and when I went out into my garage, the emergency flashers were on. I put the key in the ignition and everything was locked. I had to override the transmission to put it into neutral just to get in on a tow truck to my dealer… what a process this is. Weird thing is, is that i drove it about 100-120 miles the day before and everything was running perfectly. Anyone else have a problem like this?

Have you tried searching on Rennlist? Sometimes they have posts about technical things like that as well. Hope it all gets resolved!!

I have heard about the 991 acting weird when the battery gets low. Maybe a door was left ajar or something. In any case, I am sure the dealer can make figure it out and make it right. Don't stress yet, it is likely nothing serious.

Do you think your car alarm could have gone off over night?
Hope everything works out.

Maybe you've already figured it out? But if not and you are curious, search this and a few other boards for similar "dead battery" or "car wouldn't start" threads. I seem to recall that a couple of others on this board have reported similar issues occurring during or just after some longer drives, such as you mentioned in your post.

I've never had this specific problem, but I do know that one day while working in the garage I left the key in the "on" position for a long time not realizing it and when I went to start the car I barely got the car started the battery was so weak.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Bad way to start the ownership of a brand new car. I can't stand taking any of my cars for service let alone under that circumstance. But as they say..."this too shall pass" GL. Hope it is something simple and silly.
