Engine stumble threads are really holding me back from ordering one for myself...
If you've waited this long, I'd wait for the mid cycle refresh the 991.2 or whatever it will be called. Should be out next Spring/Summer. The GTS is also coming out and going to be announced this Fall from what I've hear. That one available the first half of next year. I'm not one for the hype of "new, new, new", but being this close there will be some noticeable tweaks aesthetically and maybe mechanical too I'm sure. If you've waited your entire life, another 6-8 months should be manageable. Just hang out on here until then!
I'm not aware of any turbo or Gt3 owners having this issue, but then again I didn't ask the question in those forums. And remember that there are only a few Gt3's on the road because of the earlier fire issues, so they're only just starting to roll out in any significant numbers.
STG958 makes some good points, but do whatever makes sense for you.
@dremaley -
It's a known problem which is being stonewalled.
Chances of being affected are approx 3 in 10 (and counting).
But can I stick my head in the stand and tell him to go ahead with no solution on the horizon, all in good faith? I have nothing to gain from convincing Benexpress to lean either way.
If he ends up with the problem no one here is going to fix it, and hope is not a strategy that works particularly well for me.
If the fact that I choose not to drink the Coolaid makes me risk averse (in spite of being a stumbler) them I'm guilty as charged...

@dremaley - Thanks for the response and I'm happy to report that all feathers are fine and unruffled.
Your comments are justified based on your good fortune, as are mine based on my misfortune.
If we stop to think about what's really going on here, it's a pretty pathetic situation all around. None of us have done anything to be in this situation and it simply comes down to whether we are willing to place our faith in Porsche and hope that they'll do the right thing on their own volition. That's where we fundamentally differ.
Be well and I wish you safe (stumble free) motoring.

Dux,
Does this stumble present only to 991 C2, C4, C2S and C4S? Have you heard some of turbo or gt3 cars have the same issue?
I am checking your poll results several times every day and since you started and now I think 6(non stumble) : 4 (stumble) or 7:3 ratio shows that engine stumble is somewhat epidemic to 991. Maybe I am overreacting but we are talking engine stumble here not door rattles when we hear going over deep potholes. Unless I do spirited driving, most of my driving will be around 2500 - 3000 rpm and I will be desperately battling fish tugging effect all along if mine is stumbler. Now I am leaning toward gt3 because of this issue but I hate the fact that I am changing my choice, not because of I like (not saying gt3 is a bad car)but because of the quality issue.
I felt so sorry and terrible to hear some of you went to Germany to pick the car up and turned out to be a tumbler. Some could say I should be manly enough to take 6:4 or 7:3 chances but I just don't want to do that over my first 911. Oh man...

Update on my situation: Tried to take mine in to the dealer for the third time for the same problem. They basically said there was nothing else they could do for me and I would be better served by calling Porsche. I will be doing that, but I've also sent an e-mail to one of the executives in the Southeastern region. More to follow.

"No, I just got a wing for it."
"Oh, OK. Can I go shopping for some shoes?"
"Sure babe."
Seriously though, I'm sorry that it's come to this (getting rid of it) and best of luck if you go that route.
Sadly not an option for mere mortals like myself.
Money - I hope you don't lose too much $$$ for your GT3 transition with dealer. I more than 80% decided to go with GT3 and to be honest I am not a huge fan of gigantic rear wing but what can I do, if GT3 is one way to avoid stumbler. I wish GT3 came with duck tail like wing..
Dux - Can I use your poll results as a reference for letter I am writing to CEO at PCNA? STG958 left PCNA CEO mailing address in one of your other threads, so I decided to write him. The letter pretty much says why I am so hesitant to buy my dream and it is because almost half the cars sitting on dealers' lot (or half the 911 Porsche manufactures) are stumbler based on the polls. I am trying to be very nice and polite in the letter not sarcastic at all, but I am asking him how I can choose a 911 which does not stumble which is considered to be abnormal by dealers and porsche field tech.

STG958 - Isn't life full of surprises? I have always wanted to own 991 and now I can finally afford one but being hesitant due to stumble issue. haha. By the way I am writing a letter to CEO at PCNA and sending it to the address you left at one of Dux's thread. Hopefully he get it though. I believe one of his assistants won't shred it.
I think they are fully aware of the issue. I believe they think it's not a critical problem and one that is "tolerable" in their opinion. I'm sure it would not be a cheap one to fix, and I'm not sure they'd even know how to confirm a car did/didn't have the issue by any sort of error code.
I really think a true independent "mechanic" with real tools that specializes in Porsches could diagnose this problem pretty easily. I'm shocked nobody with this skill set has not picked up on these postings and stepped up to try and diagnose this.
If there was a diagnosis, there would be some concrete evidence to go on and pressure Porsche to fix it. At this time, there are just many theories with no solid confirmations. Correct??
Benexpress - Be my guest but I fear this thread will be dismissed as nothing more than internet folklore.
Here is the real issue. The problem can appear at any time as it did for Money2536 (X51) and I (C2S) after xxxx happy miles. That is what is so unacceptable.
You can buy a non stumbler only to evolve into one. And the question of why this occurs cannot (or will not) be answered by PCNA.
God help us all if Money2536 gets a GT3 and it too starts stumbling after 4000 miles. He'll either need a good divorce attorney or a mental ward ...
