What are common causes of buzzing sound on the left?

I'm taking my car in next week to find a buzzing sound on the left driver's side. I'd like to maybe point the service guys in the right direction if someone has had this fixed before.

1. It is more of a buzzing sound and not a rattle from the door area.
2. It happens on accelaration mainly.
3. When the weather was warmer this summer, it went away.

If someone has been able to narrow this down, I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

Richard

If it's right by your left ear it's probably your seat-belt tensioner cover.
On warm days it expands - hence no rattles.
Do a search on this forum for "rattles" or take a look in the DIY section (with pictures), grab some felt-tape and spare yourself a trip to the dealer.

Thanks, I'll suggest that as one possibility, but it sounds like it is more on the left and ahead of me. Maybe door handle, or trim, but I'm not sure.

Perfect thread for me today. I've been getting that buzzing sound too over uneven pavement more and more. It was just starting drive me nuts today. Left side but for me clearly in the back. Then while driving I reached back to the seat belt coupler right behind me and gently pushed it away from the leather. Sort of gave it a little room. IT WORKED! Buzzing gone. Nice rattle free car again.

You might want to check that.

I've had two buzzing sounds on the left. One was the lower front part of the door panel and the other was the headliner right where the A pillar meets the headliner.

I have a "rubbing" sound occurring in the front left. Sounds like two pieces of plastic rubbing against one another. The fix for him was that the seals around the gas tank shift out of place, which creates the squeaking in the firewall area. You would think it would be heard further on the right, but it's the left.

Do you happen to also have the buzz when playing music with deeper bass, the buzz intensifying with the bass thumps(?) and not at obnoxiously high volume? I found that if I press my left knee or hand on the handle that runs above the speaker (against the door) it suppressed the buzz, indicating to me a lack of tightness of fit or fastening of the door panel at around that spot - making me think the noise is coming from either where the speaker is located (the grille that covers it), or perhaps the window/mirror switch housing bezel.
Try pressing where I mention and see if it helps. I haven't taken my car in yet for it.

I had a buzzing sound in the speakers when deep bass was playing that has been fixed. They found electrical wiring causing a rattle and wrapped it with felt tape and found the upper corner of the inner door trim didn't have enough pressure from the trim clips and added felt tape there as well. That fixed the problem with deep bass, although I rarely listen to music in the car. It is the buzzing on acceleration that is driving me crazy right now.

Hopefully what they found in my car helps for you.

I just wanted to report in. I took my car into the dealer for the buzzing coming from the left driver's side on acceleration. The dealer found it was coming from the driver side seat memory switch bank. They removed the door panel, removed switch bank, and added sound insulation to the switch bank and contact points on the door. The buzzing sound is now gone on acceleration.

Hope this helps if anyone else has a similar problem and wants to point the dealer to it.

Richard
