Service schedule and leased vehicles

24 month lease ends next April and I'm approaching 20k. Should I schedule a 20k service at dealer? Am I required to use dealer for that matter seeing as car is leased, as opposed to Indy?

PCM says oil is good for 6k more miles. Not sure what I'd be paying for and if I can just not schedule the service and just have oil changed when needed. No track time just a DD.

Thanks for the input

The lease will provide the answers you seek. It's all in there

How many miles are allowed on your lease?

Simply says I agree to service and repair the vehicle according to maintenance program required by the manufacturer, and to ensure the warranty if any remains valid. Under excess wear and use "missed scheduled maintenance" is listed. Doesn't specifically state "by porsche dealer." Hmm I'll likely just foot the bill regardless unless my dealer tries to bend me over.

2,500 per year so I may have some excess mileage charges to negotiate with porsche financial services.

Just kidding lol 18k a year! I'm actually way under as I moved to a more central location shortly after leasing

On a leased car I'd do the absolute minimum service. In the US they can't force you to use dealers to do maintenance (in fact there is nothing to prevent you from performing the maint yourself, you just need to document it appropriately). And in reality the maintenance is so trivial in the first 30K it amounts to just oil changes and filters.

So I believe that the leases is just requiring you to maintaining in a way that keeps the warranty valid.

Go get yourself an indy to do the service which is just oil and filters for $175 and take your wife out to dinner with $225 you save..

+1. While we're at it, do you have any indies you'd recommend in our area? I've yet to find a shop that tickles my fancy.

Leasing is no different than owning. Follow the guide in the manual.

As for who does the work, it does not matter. Dealer, indy or DIY all fulfill the service requirements.
