Just acquired a pre-wned 1 year old 991 C4S PDK with 7000km on the odo. Noticed that whenever I accelerate from a standstill, there is a "thud" / mechanical sound before the exhaust / engine noise kicks in. This occurs wven when the car is warmed up.

I have tried locating this noise internally (faulty trim / loose objects) but to no avail. Anyone experienced this before?

I thought I had the same thing, took it to the dealer and they gave me back the can of soup they found in the frunk.

I had the same issue on my 14 C4s. It did not happen every time but enough to bother me. Like you described, it was a thud (toward the back end of the car) on take off from stand still. I took it to dealer but of course there was no issue when I went for a ride with the mechanic. So I never got to know what was the cause or where it was coming from.

 

Is the hold feature active? It is funny how our cars go on their best Sunday School behavior when we take them in to be worked on.

 

Mine does not do that. Hope you get to the bottom of the issue.
