Contemplating a purchase - plz evaluate car & price (link enclosed)
Hi all,
Always have wanted a 991 and been in the market for several months. Never owned a porsche before. Let me know if you know this car, or any feedback on the options & price.
Pros: nicely optioned, porsche certified
Cons: Interior color is not my fav, 38k miles for '13

None of the goodie options like sport chrono, ptv, pdcc, past?
Depends on what you want from the car but to me this is optioned as a luxury car not a go fast car.
Also, "Interior color is not my fav" does it for me. You should be buying one of these out of complete love (or lust) not just because it's the one that fits the price. I looked for a few months and rode in an airplane to get mine because there weren't any local that I loved. I took one look at my CPO car's interior and immediately fell in love with it and knew I needed to be in it, and even then I made sure it had the options I wanted. It had one or two extra things I didn't care about, but I had a list of things I wanted in the car and any potential suitor HAD to have them or it was ignored.
My recommendation to you is to choose what you want on the car, make a list, and wait until one comes up that has that stuff on it. If you're looking at a certain price, it may take a little longer, but it will be better than spending this kind of money to settle for something that "works" when you could wait and get the car that gives you chills when you look at it.

Since this is a base 3.4 liter car, I would not expect the performance options. The options on it are basically luxury, comfort or appearance. Options are personal preference and tend to quickly lose resale value as a car ages in any case.
The real question is the high mileage vs. the CPO. I was recently offered a $60k trade-in value by a Porsche dealer on my 2013 base 991 with 19k miles and different, but less initially expensive options. That makes this car seem quite reasonable, except perhaps for the high mileage.
Given the CPO warranty, if I really liked the car with its options, I would be tempted at the listed price.

I think it's a great deal and I'm sure you could negotiate it down to $60k. But be careful, if you negotiate the price down, be sure the salesman does not remove the CPO. Verify it's on the paperwork and that you get all of the CPO documentation. Ask me how I know about this!! Thankfully, my distrust of any dealer caught it just as I was about to sign for the car. And btw, this stealership trick was conducted at another dealer not too far from Annapolis. PM me for details.

I'd pass, especially if the OP isn't in love with the Luxor Beige interior. This is also a bit of a weird build, with the comfort options and then the Aerokit Cup on a brown base car.
very insightful comments, very helpful!
CPO is nice and will be covered 'til 2018/100k miles, but a bit concerning that this car's been on sale since Jan. I'll probably keep searching as I want a full leather interior and PDK transmission.

The length of time it's been available shouldn't bother you, they seem to always take a long time to sell. There was a Mexico Blue 991S in Phoenix for sale, certified with 8k miles and ALL of the good options, took 5 months to sell it and the day I found it I tried to buy and it had literally been sold the same day. I was so irritated.
So I'm telling you two things, don't be put off by how long it's been on the lot, and when you find what you want, fire on it.

You can do better.
I'm biased, but many have found this thread very helpful in finding nice cars and getting an idea of what the current market is like out there.
