Unleash the Beast

There was a bottle of Techron (http://www.techron.com/) sitting in the trunk of my daughter's car. I purchase six packs from Costco for use in her 2008 Civic as the fuel injectors seem to clog no matter which gasoline she uses and a bottle restores power in about 200-300 miles.

I was about to top off the C2 tank before a long trip and decided to try out Techron as my car seemed to be somewhat sluggish in non Sport mode.

Drove 1,273 miles since July 31st and not only did I notice a significant change in responsiveness in Sport as well in non Sport mode. I suspect that the sustained engine speed over long periods of time with the cleaner made a difference.

I have always been wary of "tuneup in a bottle" products, but this one seemed to work. I've been using Exxon or Sunoco 93 and Wawa 92 in a pinch.

All the techs I know at Lexus, Porsche, and Audi always have good things to say about Techron, so I did use it from time to time in my S4 and ZO6 with good results. I will give it a try in my C2S now that you've reminded me about it.

Well, at least you're getting a nice placebo effect. A cheap engine mod. "Unleash the beast" in a bottle. Sounds like a sexual energy drink. Have fun.

I use Star Tron; Techron is great stuff but I prefer the enzymes.
