Help With 991 Purchase Decision

I have an 07 Carrera S that i'm considering getting rid of and looking to replace with a 991. Here are what I consider to be my options that i'm interested.

1. 2015 C2S with Sport Design Package, i'm a little worried this won't be enough of a upgrade from my 07 C2S

2. 2015 GTS, I'd really like the duck tail or aerokit which you don't find used too often. I also don't care for the all black wheels. The extra hp would be welcome.

3. Wait a while until 991 turbo values come down to low 100k, the turbo exhaust sound scares me as i love the naturally aspirated sound.

4. Just keep rolling with the 07, it's been a fantastic car, i just feel like I will have some upcoming maintenance costs that i'd rather put towards a new car.

I appreciate your input.

I'd go with #2 or a 991S with the X51 Powerkit engine. I have that (2013) with the Sport Design option (and much more) also. However, with #2 I'd personally have an issue with the centre lock wheels which are visually great but a bit of a pain in the you know where to change without the special "bar".

I went from a 997.2 to a 991S. Totally different cars. I suggest keeping the 997. At the very least, spend a lot of time test driving the 991 and make sure that it is what you want.

And you can have the wheels painted.

Get a GTS. It's the best 911 variant in my opinion. I've driven a 991 C2S and TT, and the GTS gives the best Porsche experience.

I'd agree with eg991, the GTS is the truest "Porsche" experience...

I think option #4 would be good, and then pick up a used GTS. IMO, the Turbo doesn't sound bad, but it's no N/A Porsche. If you're worried about never finding a duck tail or aerokit GTS used, then buy new, and hold. Not sure how long you hold cars. For me, I tend to last about 6-12 months, so buying new for me is a terrible option. I'm loving my M4, but I'm getting the itch to have a dedicated sports car again, so I'll likely satisfy that itch again in the next 6-12 months.
