Not a fan of big sound systems in Porsches, but I have to say, if you have to do it, that is how to do it. Kudos on a great install.

Beautiful craftsmanship on your speakerbox. I love the Porsche look metal speaker grill with Porsche logo.

I just recently ordered a 911 with Burmester. It's night and day different between Bose and Burmester, at least with vocals. What proof do you have that Porsche uses the exact speaker whether it's bose or burmester?

I just did a quick search and there are about 4 people that swapped their bose speakers for burmester.

Night and day difference. One guy swapped the mids only for about $400 and it's a big difference.
Here's the thread if anyone cares.

I'm also a bit of an audiophile as I grow older. I thought the Burmester wasn't that bad of a deal considering how much clearer vocals sound compared to bose. I have some home speakers where my center channel only is more expensive than the upgrade so it was easier for me to spend the money now, while 10 years ago I'd never pay that much for the burmester. (my home speakers are a lifetime investment that made me feel it was ok to spend more on quality speakers in a car) Acoustic string instruments are so clear you feel like the artist is performing in front of you, and I'm not exaggerating.

After an hour listening to a bose radio my ears start to fatigue and I just have to turn it off. Satellite radio can be a problem too. Once I bought a set of Sonus Faber for my house listening to TV anywhere else is tough for an hour. With Sonus Faber I can listen to a marathon of movies or hours of music. It's a great feeling.

I paid the money for Burmester, so if you have proof that burmester and bose use exactly the same speaker I'm curious, and I'll raise hell with my sales manager for screwing me over.

I swapped the Burmester tweeters for these Focal F-53K tweeters.
Also disconnected the center dash speaker which screws up the stereo imaging.
Sounds even better!!

The focals don't even look like they fit properly into the opening. How did you get it secured properly and did the grill fit back on tightly?

They are self-enclosed tweeters, so they don't need to be sealed and bolted down to the substrate like a woofer.
They fit quite snuggly and are secured with epoxy.
Plus no one will ever see them under the grills.
Sound fantastic!!

very cool box! how much did the cost cost?500,1000,1500?

I also completely replace the Bose crap my 991 had.

PCM swapped for Pioneer NEX 8400W (wireless CarPlay)

front stage:
Hertz Mille Legend 3 way component (run Active/no crossovers)
Alpine PDX V9 Amp + SoundDigital 400.4 Amp
Audison Bit NOVE DSP

Subs:
2x 10inch JL Audio 10TW3 Subwoofers in custom ported box.

I had my fantastic install Fantazy Motorsports in Thousand Oaks, CA dynamite everything, add a backup camera and fabricate custom A Pillars for the tweeter and 3inch speaker.
Its a fantastic system! To address a couple questions I read on here:

- The new speakers can play VERY loud without Distortion, so even with my convertible top down I can enjoy the music and not just win noise.
- The engine sounds great but I still like music
- Bose is crap, sold the speakers and amp on eBay for 500$

ceramic pro coated Calipers and rims

nice company....

I've noticed that I feel like I'm going a lot faster than I actually am because of the engine noise, and actually Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin drive a lot slower than I would my X6 for example - with its 8 speed and isolated front engine.
