Buying my first 991
Buying my first 991
Going to look at a 2012 S with 25k miles convertible. Not a CPO but clean car fax. What important things should I look for? I'm a car guy but don't know important things on a 991 to watch for. Thanks!
An accurate answer to your question would depend on the car's features...does it have PASM, PDK or MT, etc. Generally, and I'm on my second 991 car, these vehicles are tanks. Be sure to check for whether the car was maintained per schedule. Also, it's time for new tires if they haven't been changed.
Thanks for the reply. It is PDK trans - no sport exhaust or sport wheel with paddles which I will add. Service records seem to be well maintained and one owner. Has protective clear coating on fenders hood and front bumper.

Its for sale at a land rover dealer - I was thinking about seeing if I could take it to the Porsche dealer for an inspection.

I would never buy an "out of warranty" Porsche without having a prepurchase inspection. That being said, they are wonderfully reliable cars and, if properly maintained, will give you many miles of great driving fun!
Look for a car at a Porsche dealer and get a CPO car. You will have greater peace of mind. They are really rugged cars but why not have the extra insurance. There a lot of cars out there. Even if it cost a few bucks more it's worth it.
I bought my CPO one owner 2013 C4 with 8K miles and 15 months in-service late February, 2015 (warranty until 10/19) from the dealer that sold it new and serviced it. I agree with Jersey Shore that there are plenty of slightly used CPO 991's for sale. Best decision I've ever made and it gives me huge grins everyday!
