New C4S Owner
I am new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. Just like most of you, I have always had a crush on the 911. I first saw it at an auto show when I was 10 years old; they had three displayed and I immediately knew that I would have one at some point. My parent and I came to the US from Vietnam when I was just 3 years old so we were just about as low as it got on the income bracket. Of course, at that time, I had no idea how expensive and difficult it would be to afford a 911!
Well, thanks to my parents and their hard work to get me the education I need which led to a good career where I can finally afford the car of my dreams. I spent some serious time looking at the market for the 911 and knew that I didn't want to buy a new one due to the insane 2 year depreciation. I also didn't want to get a new one because I really wanted a NA engine. After months of looking and a severely blown budget (set by my wife), I just took delivery of my 2015 C4S a couple of Saturdays ago and am thrilled! The delivery experience was a little soured by the fact that the dealer did not address some major road rash issues on the front bumper. They did use touch up paint but it was done very poorly and there were still a lot of divots and bumps all over the front bumper. I understand that it will not look perfect unless resprayed but I did expect a more professional job than what I received. I plan on getting some Dr Colorchip to see what I can do on my own since I am concerned that a respray will not exactly match the rest of the car.
On the way home I decided to pick up a GTI as a daily driver. My wife was not thrilled about either car especially since I have been through 6 cars in the last year and a half (Silverado, 435i, M3, Camaro SS, Boxster, '87 3/4 ton Dodge pickup, I am keeping the Dodge). She was especially unhappy since I blew through the budget for the 911 and to top it off, she wasn't aware that I was going to buy the GTI until we pulled into the VW dealership on the way back from Porsche.
So far, the only thing I've done is a 25% huper optik tint, Porsche 5mm spacers, and installed the AWE exhaust. The car is currently at Autobahn Porsche to respray the front bumper, install the rennline grilles, install clear side markers, and redo the interior. I basically told them to make the car new again. I am also going to give it a full polish and apply some crystal serum lite and exo. No mods on the GTI except the same paint treatment as on the 911.
Overall, I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the C4S when I took delivery especially since it only had 8k miles. This car was something I have looked forward to for a very long time and I am just a bit let down since it wasn't "perfect". I am relatively young so there will be plenty of opportunities for other 911s but this was the first and I just hate feeling that it missed the mark a little. However the over $40k savings from sticker price makes up for the the 3 minor dings, road rash, and mild discoloration on on section of the dash leather. I'll probably spend a few thousand dollars to get the condition to where I would find it acceptable but that is still much better than paying the $138k msrp! But, there is still a small part of me that wishes I would have just bit the bullet and bought a new 991.2 even though they aren't NA. Oh well, I am lucky to even have one!
Anyways, I look forward to all of the discussions to come!

Welcome to Porsche. Don't be a poser and drive around with the wing up 100% of the time like a 991 driver I saw today in Austin! lol
Your dealer probably has a guy that can make your wheels look perfect for next to nothing. Lots of good ding shops around too.

I dropped the car off at Autobahn Porsche in Ft Worth right now to get all the issues sorted out. I just told them to make it like new again, hopefully they can pull it off without a huge shop bill.
Ha, your car you can do what you wish. Personally I prefer no badging that isn't the car you have. When I lived in Germany, many 1.6 liter BMW 3 series had M badging. I had to laugh.
R decals on a blue car? Aren't they red or green only? You might want to consider a duck tail versus the GT3 RS wing, but I guess you're going for the most extreme racer look possible. Save your money and mount a set of Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tires and you can corner faster than what the wing would enable. By a long shot!
BTW, check out Suncoast motors in Florida for parts and accessories. suncoastparts.com

In all seriousness, suncoast has a fair amount of my money already. Probably even more once I get the car back from the dealership. Along the lines of poser talk, I really do like the gts engine lid...

Thank you for the compliments. It has been a terrific experience so far. I'm still working on some little touches to make it mine and the polished aluminum trim is giving me a hard time!
I also have a 15 c4s in the dark grey. Just came back from Treffen in Asheville NC where i put some serious wear on the tires loving every minute of it. Nothing like the downshift of a normally aspirated engine with sport exhaust winding around the best driving roads in the country. Only thing I did to my car is the clear tail lights and the clear driving safety lights in the front. Car looks good just like it is.
