DIY 991 Carrera S Front Brake Pad Replacement was GREAT. I am trying to find same information for DIY 991 Carrera S Rear Brakes, and how to disconnect rear sensor pad connections. 2014 Carrera S.

they come off same as the fronts, but getting them back on is a pain. what specifically are you having issues with

Porsche Crazy: I attempted to add a photo, but can't get it to size correctly. I can't figure out how to disconnect the rear brake pad sensors. I have removed caliper bolts and can get the the brake pads, but they are attached to the pad sensor and I don't know how to disconnect. How do I get to the sensor to disconnect?

did you see mtony's tutorial on 6speed? it is pretty good. sensors are connected to a harness toward the back and the metal holder on the back of the rear brakes come off with some force, then the brake pads can slide out. careful pulling the sensors off the pads if you want to reuse them - use needle nose pliers

Porsche Crazy: Thanks for your assistance. I got the back brake pads replaced. I did not replace the brake sensors. How do I get the dash board display warning of brake pad replacement to turn off?

You can buy an obd scanner to get rid of the light -- the scanner is also good for getting rid of oil service lights and service reminders. You can also clip off the end of the sensors and solder or twist together the exposed wire ends (and secure with an appropriate connector or electrical tape) and zip tie them out of the way. You will re-establish the circuit continuity in that way, and get rid of the light.

Are the sensors still plugged in? If so, you must have broken a wire removing them from the pad ( and you would need to either buy new ones or solder the old ends to complete the circuit).

If you removed them without harm , you can plug them back in and twist tie them out of the way to eliminate the warning light without having them in the pad ( and your way).
