So this happened yesterday...

Got out of my car and walking around the back I noticed my passenger taillight hanging by its wiring like a detached eye. At first I assumed I was hit but did not remember anybody coming close to me. Looking closer, the mounting 'bracket' where a screw attaches the light to the car was broken.
Our roads are brick (always hated them) making for a bumpy ride. I'm guessing the bumps finally took their toll.
I've ordered two new lights at $930+ each! Guess I'll make some time to remove the bumper and reattach the lights.

Wow, that should not have happened (unless it was over-tightened at some point).
As you probably know, it's a pretty simple replacement process.
I'm quite sure you don't need to remove the bumper.
Good luck..

Yeah, I looked up a video. Just need to loosen a few screws, pop the miniature housing, and replace.

But in all seriousness OP, maybe check classifieds or EBay for OEM replacement instead of buying new, that sucks to find that on one's car.

Sucks. Agree I’d hunt down a pair on eBay or the marketplace. The reds 639 each on suncoast. While you can get the clear pair for 525 and RS pair is 899.

Thanks all for the tips.
The guy at the dealer gave me a discount of around $650 each.
I got them installed today, although I think I stripped one of the screws after I installed them. Hopefully I never need to replace them.

when you ever need to remove the bumper to swap the air filters or for whatever reason, the lights need to come out again

Just curious, why buy two rather than just the right side?
