I'm currently running 2S wheels with 15mm spacers on the rear of my 2013 4S. The 2S wheel have a 71mm offset, but normal 4S wheels have a 51mm offset, so I'm running about 5mm short of stock fitment. I'm thinking of getting larger spacers. 20mm spacers would bring me to stock fitment, but I could also go for 23mm spacers, which I think would look great. I'm just a bit worried that 23mm spacers may be pushing it... Is it okay structurally to go with spacers as large as 23mm? Any advice, experience here, much appreciated (I would, of course, use the appropriate (longer) lug bolts!).

We would recommend going with a 20mm Wheel Spacer in your case, just in case you decide to lower the ride height of your car or track the car which may cause the car to lean under hard turns. This way you will have enough body clearance.
No issue with running a 20mm spacer even a 23mm wont create any issues. We really only see some pre mature wheel bearing wear with spacers 50mm and up.

I've run everything from 5mm to 20mm spaces on various cars. Imo after you go past 10mm, the handling is severely impacted. I try to stick between 5 and 10mm, but there is still nothing like having a purpose built quality mono forged wheel, which will easily outshine most all factory wheels. If you do decide to go with spacers, stay away from Motorsport Tech. I've had many from them, and they are utter rubbish due to them being solid heavy pieces of metal. My favorites are H&R for weight and quality. Good luck
