Nice to see a 993 on a road course making full use of this car. Lately more folks are fixated on 15hp to go in a straight line minimally faster. Your's sure is a beauty. Dunno about down under but every event I go to there's a former 993tt owner who comes up to me saying they wish they'd never sold, lol.

Next round

Hi folks....the next round is this weekend at our Premier Motorsport park in Australia, Eastern Creek. I wouldnt argue that this is our best track, I really dont know it that well, but we will be putting in a big effort this weekend as the track suits the long legs of the 993 Turbo S. We are running second in class at the moment against mostly race cars, albeit slightly older ones, but have to remember that the 993 is now in it's 11th year! The guy running ahead of me is in a full race Commodore V8. This is an Aussie built sedan which runs in our premier motor racing class here, V8 Supercars. The car in question is around the same age as the 993 but fully stripped, running all race gear and I suspect 500-600HP from his carby V8. I suspect he is as quick on the straights but I know I can outbrake him and his car is not as well behaved in the long sweeper at the end of the main straight. We dab the brakes at around 180-185 kmh and take this corner at that speed but with the car loaded with accelerator. Anyway....here's hoping we move up a position following this weekend!

Local Brand called Simmons...........I am the Simmons King.......just bought another set today......that makes 3 sets now......2 x track sets and one for the road..........they are very good...lightweight and great for track but the rims on the "race" series are 3mm and very soft. Road series are 5mm and no problem.....

Hi, thanks for asking....appreciate you guys taking an interest......in the overall I am running around 26th out of 115 cars. A normal day will have 100-108 driving with 5 on the standby list. In my category, I am running second and one point behind the leader.......the bad news is that the guy running 3rd is only one point behind me!
This Sunday is the next round and it is at a track that I am normally faster on than the other two guys so I am hoping to get a lead in my category and get ahead......will have to wait and see! Back to you after the weekend!

What tires are you using? Are the spec'd for the series or can you use what ever compound you want?

Put it to them Grant and please keep us posted as to the results of this weeks round.

Next event

Hi Folks, sorry it has been a long time since I have added an update. The car has been undergoing conversion from track junkie to rally weapon! I dont have pic right now but I will take a heap tomorrow before we load it up and drive 18 hours to Adelaide and do the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally. There are cameras fitted, Stilo intercoms, new electronics all over the place, and FUN....promise pictures tomorrow
Rgds
