993 TT question

What is difference btw 1996 and 1997 993tt?

is it true transmission input shafts were weaker in 1996? Also the ECU was not modifiable? Then, can these be converted with 1997 version?

any info would help
thanks in advance

Yes you can make the changes. I have a 97' ecu in my 96'. I know of 2 others that have changed the input shaft.

www.993tt.com

Edit: Appears the site is down right now.
2nd Edit: I read from another forum that the owner of 993tt.com passed unexpectedly.
3rd Edit: 993.com is up and running now.

Also, have a read here.

Some very early build 993tt (1995) had different rods than the later built cars. 96-97 and GT2's were the same rods which were good up to 520 hp.
Other changes were 97 went to plastic wheel caps, ECU, input shaft and ya, price.
