Wing....

Hey guys soo ive still been looking for a 993 and I noticed that usually the turbos or the 4s have this very attractive wing on the end. As seen here. Is this an option? Or did it only come on certain models? What year?

that's a standard turbo wing. grant some would say it's a little poseur-ish to put that wing on a non turbo but who cares. so what kind of 993 are you looking for?

The 993 turbo wing is exclusive to the turbo cars. It was not available as an option on non-turbo 993 vehicles.

The Aero II wing (standard on the 993 Turbo S) was an option on non-turbo 993 cars. Had one on my 1998 C4S and it was a delight for the eyes.

For a non-turbo 993, I'd look at the Aero II wing (from the Turbo S) or a duck tail. Both look great with the 993 lines IMHO.

The turbo tail was available as an option on non turbo cars.
It was available on the wide body non turbo car, C2S and C4S.
I have seen it on a narrow body and it also looks good.
I actually owned a narrow body guards red with many nice upgrades including an OEM tt tail. I did remove the turbo name from the tail. It is all personal preference.
It is now owned by "cactus"
Here is a few old pics of when I owned the car.
Hope you guys like it.

Thanks,
AL Z

I bought this 03 996 w/ supposedly Factory (or dealer) Aero kit fitted.May be aftermarket. I know some would say this is poseur-ish, but I like the lines of the car, especially in this color. The engine lid simply says "911"....and I don't know if this was an Aero kit thing, instead of "Carrera".

I have a turbo tail on my '95 993. Was on the car when I bought it back in '97, but can't imagine the car without it.

With the additional weight of the TT tail, did you guys upgraded the rear struts?

P daddy,
The Original TT tail is lighter then the stock 993 decklid/spoiler. It bolts right in place of the original. You do not have to upgrade the struts.
I sent you a PM.
Thanks,
AL Z

Hi P-daddy,
I am not sure if you are considering installing a tt tail on your 993.
If you are interested, I have an original OEM porsche twin turbo tail in guards red. It is a complete unit with both upper and lower grills ready to be bolted in place.
I can be reached at 502 424 5772
Thanks,
AL
