Quick Spacer Question!

Hey guys and gals,

I have an 01 911 Turbo, I just want to add a spacer to the rear for a more agressive look and lower it for the time being. What size spacers can I purchase from H+R to make the rear wheel fit the well but not rub even when it is low.

There are so many choices.

Thanks

You can go 15mm on both front and rear. I had 7mm in front and 15mm in rear, slammed down on the stock wheels no rubbing. It really improves the look of the car. Go for it!

I have 19" Champions 11.5 rear and 8 front. I run 15mm rear (definitely had to roll fenders) and 7mm front.

15mm fronts would have cleared the fender but were rubbing the inner fender liner in front so 7mm it was.

21mm rear and 7mm front RUF spacers here. I also rolled my fenders.

Roll or remove

For those guys that have rolled their fenders, I'd be interested in knowing how long ago this was done and if there has been any issues with paint cracking.

I recently put on 19' kahn wheels and with my existing spacers(7 and 15), the rears are protruding too much.I'm considering removing the spacers or rolling the fenders.

feedback appreciated.

Feedback......just my opin but, boy I don't like those wheels........sorry.
Any clue what the offset of the "Kahns" might be?
Having 19s has absolutely nothing to do with whether the wheels are out too far.......that can easily be accomplished w/17s (what I run in the winter).

Fender prep done carefully on these cars....has no ill-effects.
If you are running 315 rubber on 11 or 11.5 rears you should not need to roll unless you are 30 or below total offset (and-or do not have a very tight suspension).......people that are running fairly tight suspensions can get away with a tad lower ride (and maybe no fender prep).
OK.....you added 15mm spacers to custom wheels?.....and now they are out too far........A suggestion would be to order them the correct offset (so spacers would not be required). They look like they are at least 10mm out too far now which means they may be about 35s....still 10mm better (less)than OEs.
Did they look that bad w/out spacers?.......at best you only need 5-7mm spacer (or just leave em alone w/out spacers)......your car already appears to be lower than OE......she'll look fine w/out spacers ......or go for 5-7mm......15 is overkill.....you are beyond the fender line (something I don't think looks great.....again, just my opin.).

Thanks for the constructive feedback about rolling the fenders Greg.

As far as your comments relating to my wheels... obviously you and I happily have different tastes in...based on your 996tt:

Also, you might want to take another look at what I wrote about the spacers...they were on the car with the stock wheels..they weren't ordered to go with the new wheels...the tuner left the spacers on when he put the new wheels on.....despite my request to remove them...so your unhelpful comment about ordering the wheels(a bit late now isn't it) with the correct offset is based on your lack of comprehension.

Always embarassinig when that happens....sorry just my opinion.

if you're using stock 18" wheels, 15mm front and rear will be what you need. If you're running aftermarket wheels, it will depends on the offset of the wheels then.

Sorry for the 'lack of comprehension'........good luck with the wheels and in getting the offset look (spacers) that you're looking for.

Gregg

The offsets are as follows

Front: 8.5" 45 ET
Rears:11" 40 ET

By the way, I'm in Australia and as far as I know, my car is stock ride height...maybe US cars have different suspension specs.

I think you'll be best served removing the rear spacers. Sticking out only looks worse. IMO the idea is to get them to fill the fenders. If you still have contact, then roll the fenders with a 2-3 lb hammer and some elbow grease. You can put some duct tape on the striking end to prevent damaging the paint.
