Was this a steal? (04 Turbo Cab $71k)

I paid $77k for an 04 x50 with 18k miles.
This auction with 'private sale' is a non-starter for me... there is NO possible reason to hide buyer IDs unless the seller has something to hide!
That is one of the least optioned underhood stickers I've ever seen, too.

ebay no longer displays bidders id's in every auto sale. as a seller you can select a private auction but there is no reason to.
someone got one hell of a deal on that car

Oh, Coupe.
Actually I was finding 70-80% of the market was Cabs when I was closing the deal (end of Aug, Sept)... seemed to correlate with end of summer. Cabs seemed a bit cheaper.

A rash of low-balling going on
Heres another BS story. That car didn't sell for $71k....it was a mistake...It sold in the $80's. ask Jason over at VMC.
For whatever reason there has been a string of alledged sales lately that are "back-of-book". Just remember...if it sounds too good to be true...it usually is.

Scott you broke rule number 1. Never look to see what cars sold for after you bought yours. You will always find that deal of a lifetime AFTER you commit!!!! LOL You got a awesome car with one oif the coolest color combos I have seen!
In our case, we used ebay Buy It Now at a higher price after we had agreed to buy it for a lower price -- so we paid less than the ebay auction indicates -- so our purchase will help pull the market up a bit.
I actually was hesitant to discuss price when I first 'announced' because it can be a major disservice to sellers AND buyers.
A few thousand is really not material over the ownership period, and given all that goes into a deal, a few K should not make or break a deal.
Sometimes you find the perfect deal, sometimes just OK, sometimes you pay more than maybe you might have.
You just need to be prepared and know the market, and react accordingly. The car condition and history are so much more important than price, IMHO.
