Can I tighten wastegate for more boost?
Can I tighten wastegate for more boost?
I have the GT700 with built internals. I am only running 1.2 bar on race gas. I am putting some GT104 in and want to know if I can just tighten the wastegate to get 1.5 bar on the race program?
If so how do I do it?

Buddy. Your springs can hold 1.5 bar. I believe about 1 1/2 turns = 0.1 bar. I would (am) going to do 1 full turn and test it. Make another adjustment from there. I currently see 1.3 bar on pump and race files. I've been driving for a couple of weeks with 104 octane and would like to turn up the boost a bit myself. I would get an AEM air/fuel gauge installed before going for the record!
Buddy,
I have a question- if u have the gt700 set up must already have at a 5 bars or a regulated 4.2 bar FPR. No way does the gt700 from evoms use a stock 3.8 bar FPR. Are you sure ur doing the right thing?

buddy is doing the right thing. But if he had the gt640 kit he might already have the 5 bar in there. I don't think he has one honestly and all the gt700 kits use the stock 4 bar. THe 5 bar def helped up top where the car was going lean on the dyno. I recommend any gt700 to put the 5 bar in. Joewint even said that he never took his out form the 640-700 jump. As far as the boost controller have fun Buddy. You will seriously feel the true potential of those turbos. I personally was running a bit cooler plug NGK bkr7e this is one step cooler then what you have and the whole mixture will run richer for the added boost. I highly suggest this at the same time.

Sounds great Buddy. Ben and I have been discussing adding a boost controller. It would be great to be able to switch to 1.5 bar when on race file and 1.3 bar when on pump file.
The original GT640 kit did not come with a 5 bar FPR. My kit was one of the originals sold PRE the FBR being added to the kit. The GT700 kits do not include a FPR, but yhr new 640 kits do.
If you install this FPR, do you need a custom file to accomidate it, or will it simply feed the amount of fuel (better) the the stock unit as per programmed in the GT700 file?????

how will the Greddy boost controller override the ECU's boost controller? don't you need to program it out? (i will confess ignorance on how the ECU controls boost...)
i see 1.3 in higher gears on the 100 program. after replacing one engine, despite my current built engine, i'm happy to stick at that boost level.
