Track Guys (PAINT PROTECTION!!!!!!)

I got some stuff from this weekend, it's freaking awesome. You take a paint roller and roll it on real thick the night before and it dries to a clear bra type deal, but you can peel it off immediately after, the front of my car is chipped a bit, so I used it to experiment, and it worked wonders, will save not only rock chips but cleaning and buffing time after the event, and it really does peel off easy (easier the thicker the application). Dries in two hours. I hate permanent clear bra and you can put this stuff on the headlights etc, and it will take the same amount of time for application and removal without the hideous appearance. You can also cover the front of your car MANY TIMES, should cover the front of it for a whole season at least.

Thought I'd give a heads up. It's not advertised, but I know who to get it from, let me know if you're interested (not soliciting as I dont sell it)

The stuff I'm talking about goes on clear, and there is no taping needed, all great ideas though.

Would you mind telling what is the "stuff" ? Brand, maker, name, where to buy etc.. ?

I dont know who makes it, I got it from discovery parts, he said it was kinda hush hush (because they have a vendor who sells it, dont know who though) which is why I didnt make a big deal about who made it, because I dont think they make it. It's not on their website or anything, I had to buy it at the track.

I'll call tommorrow and see if I can get more detail, and I'll also post pics and a DIY so you guys can see that it works. This stuff really is awesome, it will take some learning to keep it from frothing up when you roll it on, but it still gets the job done and looks a TON better than tape.

I got it on Saturday morning and didnt have time between sessions to put it on, so I waiting until sunday morning after my first session since I had 2.5 hrs till the second, I got some cleaner wax to get off the already present rubber chips, a small paint roller from walmart. Painted the front fascia, and start of hood, much like clear bra. I did the second session and left because I had done my best time for the weekend and was ready to get home (3 hrs). When I got home, peeled it off in 5 minutes, the paint looke AWESOME and I could see the stuff caught in it that would have been on or chipping my paint.

sorry I cant provide more details, but it's all I got, I'll dig up some more info.

Okay, here goes.

I realized when I went out to wash my car after this past weekend that I forgot to remove the stuff from my headlights.

So I washed and waxed the car as I always do after track events. (Porter Cable Rotary, Optimum Polish).

If you look closely you can see the blur on the headlights.

I did a small application just so you guys could see it. I would advise taping around the area to be applied as it provides a clean line for removal, then once you aplly remove the tape before it dries. I didnt do that.

Notice I went over the emblem and everything, because it comes of in a big sheet, I make sure to make it thick and even for ease of removal.

Here it is fully wet just after application.

Took the last set of pics inside this morning because it looked like it was about to rain. Pics of dry and then as I remove it.
