Is a plenum worth the $$

New to the forum and have a 2005 Turbo S. Would like to get a reflash, exhaust and plenum. After reading all of the online info I believe the reflash and exhaust will work well but what about the plenum? Who makes the best equipemnt for my car and how much HP/TQ will I see? Also, whar are the costs associated with the upgrades?

What are you planning to do with the car? I guess you have to ask yourself that question before deciding what to do next.

If you plan to track the car a suspension upgrade would be a priority ..

For what you are doing, the plenum would be only a small bang for big buck. Todd said that for even my car the plenum only gives modest performance upgrades although I now kind if wish I had forked out the extra K's for the RSS and a larger TB.

TRUST WHAT HAS BEEN SAID TO YOU BY OTHER MEMBERS!!! What is your goal with the car? then, start your build.....
It does you NOOOOO good getting per say the flash and then you decide to get other components that have nothing to do with the "flash" you got... you basically threw the $$ down the toilet for the flash.... dont do things twice!! gets pricey!!
chose a set up.... then start the build... there arent like 50 to chose from anyhow anyways....
Proto is what I have and am sooo happy with it....
Evo is very popular
actually... decide what you want to achieve and then we all can suggest how best to get there..!!!
track
1/4
all out monster
just a little more for spirited driving???

I must say, Woodster and I have very similar set ups...the main diff is I have bigger turbos and he has the plenum and TB....we make nearly the same power (I think I may have maybe 10hp on him). I am not sure why Todd did not recommend the plenum and TB...they are expensive, that is no doubt.

On the Top of Protomotive mountain in 110 degree heat at 1.3 bars I made 605. I am guesstimating that at 1.4-1.5 on C-112 in 70 degree or cooler weather I am making 635-640.

The RSS plenum and TB yielded 25 hp to the wheels on my 16/24 setup..

W/ install (you have to drop the motor) you are looking at 3.5K...not cheap. Upgrading turbos will give you more bang for the buck.
