Which ecu flash is the best to do on a 996 turbo? I am changing the stock exhaust to a fabspeed maxflo sport exhaust and chainging my headers and cats all from fabspee.

 

ECU you have many choices which are all good. I personally have a GIAC tune from Imagine Auto. I have FabSpeed's Supersport (aka SuperLoud exhaust) and love the workmanship. There are other companies that are just as good too (Europipe, FVD, etc).

What kind of car do you have? K16 or K24 car, because headers honestly aren't really needed on a K16 car.

 

APR is awesome for VW/Audi


GIAC for Pcars... or upsolute if you want cheaper

 

I had a very big problem with upSolute and maybe it was just a bad dealing that I had, but I picked up a lot more HP going with GIAC. I do not regret my switch.

 

I agree. If you can go with GIAC. Upsolute has been known to throw codes and my has. It's not a cool thing when you're ABS and PSM suddenly go off at 130mph.

 

I have the GIAC flash and I am very happy with the performance gained. I also had the stock DVs replaced with Forge made from Champion Motorsports. Have not had any errors or malfunctions in the 6 months since upgrades. Good luck !

You can't go wrong with any of them, decide who you'd want to go with if you want more than just an ECU flash down the line and there's your answer.

well im glad i stopped by cause i was thinking of doing the Upsolute reflash from Vivid....

now, with all these known problems from upsolute, how are they still flashing peoples cars?

 

They only charge $700.

 

actually, thats what caught my eye at first and i didnt really hear anything bad from them...

i guess ill be sticking with UWM..

I have the FVD flash. It is only $1,500 and you get the software and cable so you can flash it back to stock anytime you want. You just hook up your laptop. I have had it for about 2 months or so and am pretty happy with it. They were also extremely helpful and went way out of their way to take care of me.
