Hi-polished wheels, what do you use to clean them?
I have just bought a set of hi polished HRE and I am wondering what is the best product to clean the wheels because I heard some wheel cleaner may stain the wheel due to the chemical ingredients. And also, what can I use to maintain a shiny lip?
Use Mother's BILLET polish, and it will make your lips look like chrome. Make sure to buy the double the price BILLET because the regular one will not do the trick.
*Wanted to add that I only use water to clean the wheel spokes. Only use Billet Mothers on the lips only.

Do NOT use any spray cleaners whatsoever! Soap and water ONLY.

I put 2 coats of Rejex on before I went to the track and left a thin coat on the vertical/lateral walls of the spokes without wiping it off completely. Don't do that. I think the wheels got hot and baked on the haze. I can't get it completely off. I have tried a few cleaners and the Mother's billet polish. It is better, but not good. I plan to black power coat those lateral walls and the back side of the barrels this winter. That way, I will only have to worry about keeping the front of the wheel shiny.

Use the simichrome only on the polished lip. If the wheel spokes are clear coated then you do not need polish. If the clearcoat finish is in bad shape then you treat just like paint on your car (polishing compound & wax).
