Angry How to stop my car from beeping??!!

Everytime I lock the Turbo with the key, the lights flash twice and then a split second later, it beeps!

It just started doing this. Up until this week, my car would never 'beep' when I locked it, only the usual dual flash of the lights.

I locked through the manual to see how to disable the damn horn when locking, but it doesnt say how.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Check your glove box, console, or hood compartment. One of them is probably ajar, causing the beep.

Can't you turn it off through the computer on the speedometer?

in addition to an ajar glove box, console or hood compartment, if u removed ur cd player, u need to disconnect a wire for the beep to go away.

What does your manual say? isn't it suppose to beep with the key lock? Why do you lock with the key and not the remote? Does it beep locking with the remote ?

To clarify, I am locking the car via my key remote. I just went outside to check that nothing was left ajar or open. Its still beeping!!!

My Boxster recently had the same problem. Turned out it was a faulty microswitch on the center console storage compartment. Five minute dealer fix.

Bob,

I think that is probably what it is. I have checked to make sure everything was closed and it is still making that damn beeping sound. Looks like it is time to pay a visit to the dealer!

Thanks for all your help!

I wanted this also and found out you can hit the remote lock button twice, which I think eliminates the interior (motion?) sensor, but does provide a beep. Don't know if it works the same with a coupe as it does a cab.
