Whose Modified 996 Turbo Got Raped By This TT Viper (Video)

I was checking out Viper Alley and came across a video of a TT Viper absolutely molesting a modified 996 Turbo:

http://www.viperalley.com/forum/vipe...as-tt-gts.html

I was not surprised that the Viper was faster, but damn, it was MUCH, MUCH faster.

Also, it looks like the something happened to the 996 Turbo in one of the last races. All the cars took off, but the 996 Turbo suddenly fell of the pack and it looked like it ran out of fuel or something. I hope the 996 Turbo didn't blow his engine turning up his boost to try and catch the Viper???

Is the owner of the 996 Turbo in the video a member of 6speed??? I am curious what mods he has, so that I can put the runs in perspective.

Thanx.

I suppose the video is consolation for those TT Vipers getting their heads chopped off by VRAlex's Protomotive 996 Turbo.

Nice place to speed around without the man to worry about.
What supprised me was that the M6 beat the Gallardo. I would never expect a 996 to take a 1200hp Viper.

This seems like a pathetic troll post I would expect to see on other forums not this one.
Sorry if I am wrong, just doesnt sound like a post from one of "our own"

Guess the post count and TT bashing is a tip off?

I am new to internet forums and I am not sure what a "troll post" is, but given the "pathetic" modifier, I presome it was not intended as a compliment. I simply saw a video and posted a link to it. I observed that the Viper put quite a distance on the 996 Turbo in a short stretch. Not a big surprise given the difference in displcement. I'm sorry if this reality upset you. I also observed that something seemed to happen to the Porsche at the end of the video, when it faded away as the other cars pushed forward. I am not sure why that constitues a "pathetic troll post" (I don't even know what a "pathetic troll post" is). Perhaps the title I gave the thread offended you. That was not my intent and I apologize.

Rather than sling some mud back at you, without justification, I will instead take the high road and avoid unwarranted name calling. For what it is worth, I own a 996 Turbo just like you. Seems to me that I therefore qualify as "one of 'our own'," and it was as "one of 'our own'" that I made the inquiry regarding another 996 Turbo owner. It also seems to me that, as "one of "our own'," I do not deserve to be attacked, without provocation or justification, by another "one o 'our own'," simply because I posted a link to a video showing that there are cars faster than a 996 Turbo.

Cheers Tom.

Now that I would like to see. Are there any videos? Don't the TT Vipers run 8 second quarter miles? Did this VRAlex's Proto 996 Turbo run 8 second quarter miles? 9 second quarter miles? Are there any time slips or vidoes of VRAlex's car running an 8 or 9 second quarter mile? If this VRAlex's car was that fast, how come the quarter mile thread at the top of this forum does not have any times for him? If his car is faster than a TT Viper, it should have one of the fastest quarter mile times of any 996 Turbo (probably the fastest). Did he take it to a track?

If Proto produced a 996 Turbo that is faster than a TT Viper, sign me up for that package. Where can I get the facts about this?

Well NOOB... there's a simply way to find out.

Call Todd Knighton at Protomotive and ask him for the specs. That car is really f-ing fast. And this is coming from someone who has a car on the 1/4 mile recordbook on 6SpeedOnline. My car was the development car, Alex's car took it to the next level and then some.

Or see if you can find VRAlexander. He's quite famous around these parts, even though his account was deleted from 6Speed.

Hope you are ready to spend $100K on your 996TT.

I wil do that.

Fast is a relative term. You seem to be very familair with VRAlex's car, as your car was the development car for it, so I will repeat my prior questions, which you declined to answer: Did VRAlex's car run 8 or 9 second quarter miles? Are there any times slips available? Videos?

Any decently set-up TT Viper runs 9 second quarter miles, and the faster ones are well into the 8s. Therefore, if VRAlex beat multiple TT Vipers (your initial post suggested that there were more than one), he either ran poorly set-up TT Vipers that are not capable of 9s, or VRAlex's car is capable of 8s or 9s and he beat well set-up TT Vipers. I am curious which one it is.

I though Markski and EVO had the fastest 996 turbos. Thats what the quarter mile list suggests. Will Markski's car or EVO's car beat a well set-up TT Viper in a straight line from a roll? Is VRAlex's car faster than Markski's and EVO's cars?

Just so we are clear, I am not doubting your claim that VRAlex beat TT Vipers in his 996 turbo. He many very well have done so. As you so eloquently pointed out, I am merely a "NOOB" and I have no idea about this stuff. I am simply trying to obtain the facts and elevate myself beyond "NOOB" status. "NOOBs" accept claims without factual support. Others seek confirmation.

How can I find him if his account has been deleted. I would love to chat with him. If his car is as fast as you say, and can whip TT Vipers, I want one.

I wish we had a place like that in So. Cal. to tool around and have fun.
Tomorrow I will be on PCH between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach from 9:30am to 11:30am. I should find at least a few cars to have fun with. Not nearly as fun as what I saw on the video.
