Put the Kinesis on...

I had originally bought these for the X50 a month ago, but then decided I wanted to sell the car and upgrade to a GT2. So, finally after getting the GT2 and staring at these wheels in the boxes for which seemed like forever, I pulled these out and put them on.
I got them from Peter at Wheel Experts.

They are 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 11 K19Rs with 235/315 Yoko AVS Sports. I am considering sending them back to Kinesis and having the rear wheels widened to 19 x 12. The front wheels sit in a bit too far compared to the stock rims, so I would have them change the offset to something a little less and upgrade to Michelin PS2s.

What do you guys think?

If you are going to keep the Yokos, I wouldn't recommend the wheel widening. As it is, they are too narrow for 11.5 inch wheels let alone 12.

Upgrading to the PS2s would be the primary reason for me to widen the wheels. You are right, the AVSs are pretty narrow and are even a bit stretched on the 11" wheels.

Josh: Congrats on the car!

In case you're interested, the PS2's (235/315) will fit fine (even better than the 19" Yokos) on the 11" wheels, if you choose to stay with the Kinesis wheels. In fact, I don't believe Kinesis can make a 12" reverse lip wheel with proper offset for the GT2. The photos below illustrates HRE's go at making an 18" wheel to GT2 spec (basically the offset/look, since they can't make a 12" wide 843R with an 18" OD)-- some of the aftermarket wheel manufacturers can come very close (especially in a traditional lip design), but can't duplicate the factory width/offset exactly.

Is that stock GT2 suspension by H&R? They really looks like KW variant 3 to me.

Sell the 19's and get 18's with reverse lip...They will appear to be 19's but will be 18's as Porsche intended for the GT2...

looks great Josh!

Jack, the wheels are currently 19x11 with a 28 offset and a 4" outer and a 7" inner, that was the first set of it's type that Alan built. If we widen the wheels, we would only swap the inner barrel to an 8" as you can see from the pictures the frontspacing is perfect. This move would change the effective offset from a 11+28 to a 12+41 which is perfect for a GT2.

Sup Josh,

Its Chris. Damn, like I asked, "why didn't you get the GT2?" and here you are a couple months after the X50 with what? A Gt2. Nice choice, good trade, and sick ****in wheels! I am deciding right now if I should dump a load into the M3 and get a Caynne or get a GT2. I already started dinkin with the M3 but I am just not feelin the scene anymore though I still love the E36. I am getting a page dedicated to the rebuild. Yo, hit me up at S62M3 on AOL IM, I want to talk about the GT2.

Sorry for the bUMP

Peace, Chris
