I didnt think anybody sucked more than me at the drag strip but...

A much better way to measure the effectiveness of your mods would
be a 0-300 kph run or a 0-1 mile run (sanctioned).

Good luck,

Marty,

I am not a street racer and never intend to have the car to 186 MPH on the street. I don't know a place around here to attain that kind of speed legally.

In my office, we plan every day off a year in advance and I commit to X number of days per year. My team members get bonuses based on collections and they would be upset if I start arbitrarily taking extra days off.
Making the Texas mile over a weekend would be very difficult for me to do.

The Maxton Mile event is much closer for me, and I think that would be feasible over a weekend. Do you know of anyone who has ever done that standing mile run? I never hear anyone mention it on this forum. It is done by the East Coast Timing Association and the track is located in North Carolina. Maybe some of we east-coasters could attend an event together.

Joe,

I'll look for a big spring event in this area and keep you posted. Atlanta Dragway is about 45 minutes from me, and Silver Dollar Raceway is a little over 2 hours.

Al,

That is why I said Sanctioned! Yes, I know that some East Coast guys have
done that one and that would be great fun for you to try! You are one of the few
that has 0-200 potential.
Good luck!

Al, we may have to take a trip the Steele, dragway in Alabama, everyone raves about that one, and there is one in Tennessee and in SC that are good.

I think we got shafted because it was the end of the year so they didnt prep it well, I know the owner of the track, I'll call him from now on so that we dont get shafted driving 2 hrs for nothing.

But you and I still will have to get better alignments or it wont help anyways, -3, -2.5 isnt condusive for drag racing.
