Anyone have a feel for discounts on '04 996tt coupes?

I got offered a $134.5K car for $128K. Dealer says '04 996tt coupes are hard to get and he really could get list.

Thoughts?

The ties the best deal I have heard of, and I got, $6,500 off a car I ordered. That's a damn good deal if you like the car.

I built mine as well, msrp was $122,400.00, I paid $116,400.00 ($6000 off), although, dealer could have gotten list as he did on a car that was on the boat with mine. He also as yet hasn't asked me for a dime on my trade which he gave me $102,500.00 on all the papers i signed. I keep telling him I'll give him $2500, but, he always says not to worry about it becuase he will sell it for $105-106k. So, I basically got $6000 off + $2500 more trade value = $8500 discount.

I got 6k off of mine. As stated above, dealer claimed to have had offers for my car at MSRP. I got 10k off on my '02, but things were different then. I am more concerned about what the car will be worth in a year or two. Hopefully the LTD production of '04 coupes will help later. Who knows?

odd all these dealers are claiming the rarity of 04s allow them to charge sticker but they're letting them go at -$6k.

Its hit or miss. I think the guys who have good relationships with their dealers get the discount. The profit on the turbo depending on option is close to $14k, so, there is room to work. If their is no relationship, list is what they are going for. As a matter of fact a rival dealer overheard me talking about what I got off the car and the next day, my dealer got a call from a PCA rep asking if he was discounting Turbos and telling him not to. They are quite hard to even find, saw 1 on ebay, 1 on autotrader, and none local.

This was my 3rd 996TT from the same dealer...I should have gotten more. I got 10k off on my '02. The rarity is the problem here. Does anyone know actual '04 coupe production? What do you think the resale values will be like?

Lou is right, wihout a relationship, sticker is common. It looks like he has the best deal title I was told between 80 and 110 cars in the US.
