Didn't somebody else mention that his car went back to get custom stitching? It added a week or two to the delivery.

Hang in there!

Same thing happened to me for my custom leather work. They finish the car, and then send it back for the custom work. Adds about 2 weeks normally. I should have mine tomorrow.

I think the Customization that needs to be done to my car is the seat backs and center console painted in cobalt blue ... does anyone know if the installation of the alluminum trim parts are part of the Customization period or during the initial build?

Your car is being moved to the "Special Wishes" program for any options that could not be completed on the assembly line. Depending on how you specced the car out, this could take very little or very long. If it's only seatbacks and center console that need painting it'll probably only fall a week or two behind schedule.

Do they not get any kind of *pass* for (co) sponsoring the

here's teh short version

basically. i ordered my first 996 from them.. they never ordered my car even though i made a deposit, i waited 8 mo.s for it and twice they tried to sell me a car that i did not order..

first the sales manager told me that he knew someone from porsche gmbh and was able to pull some strings and was able to get my car ahead of schedule 1or 2 mo's afteri first put my deposit. when i looked at the car, it did not have all the options that i wanted.. i told him ill think about it in the weekend when i came back on monday. the slaes manager soldmy "supposed" carto someoneeles ..

then after waiting a few more months, i got a call from mckenna that my car had arrived, but there was a mishap, the factory "painted" my car the wrong color, instead of lapis blue, they painted it black, and all the options were the same, they also told me that they were gonna give me a discount if i decided to take the car. I went to the dealership that night looked at the car. car came out it, and yes it was black, but "almost" all of the options were wrong.. it had some of the options i ordered and some options i DID NOT order. as for the supposed discount they were gonna give me, they offered a free shirt and a free key chain..????WTF!?! words could not explain how mad i was that night.. i told them to give my deposit back and i later found out that they never deposited the check!!!

i later complained to pcna.. and they repremanded the dealership, i was in contact with one of the head guys there, couldnt remember his name, and they told me that they were gonna give me a great deal on a car on the lot.. (i did not take their offer.. it was a matter of principle) later i found out that they fired that sales manager (satisafction!)

that is the reason why i will never buy a car from MCKENNA PORSCHE IN DOWNEY (shaddy and scammers)

soemoene refere me to Jack weir in rusnak porsche pasadena, and it was a great pleasure dealing with him. since then my family and i have bought 3 cars from him.. now taht a good salesman

I had some custom (exclusive) options. Car finished production 4/8/04. Went to Exclusive for storage lid with crest/stitching, and fuse panel in leather. Arrived at port around 5/3, and in my hands a few days later.

If your vehicle completed production 5/19, I'd bet you'll see it in about two weeks.

I think it takes about 3 weeks on the boat and then another week to be shipped to your dealer.
