are you leaking fluid? if so u may have lost a rubber hose like I did twice...
if ur dry underneath then ur OK. fill it up.... let it warm up watch the guage again and look underneath to see if its leaking...
If you want can help you if ur not too far away.

I think the flashing red light just means your low on coolant, not an overheating situation. Check it for leaks, could be the overflow tank.

Check your coolant tank cap first. They are prone to premature failure.

Check around your radiators. I had the same thing happen and found both my side rads leaking. If you cant find any leaks I would do a pressure check. Good luck

Check the white plastic tank too, I have had my own crack and need to be replaced from leaking. hopefully it was just low.

Had a similar problem. The "Check Coolant Level" warning came on and red light near the top was blinking but there was no increase in engine temperature. I had to full up an extra 1 - 1.5L of radiator fluid, which is less than 5% of the total capacity (if it is 8 gallons). This all happen after I hit 299km per hour. I suspect a leak but have not check yet as I had to travel away from home. How strong are the radiators themselves? Do leaks come from the radiators or from the hoses?

I had a similar problem. I topped up the water a couple of times over the last few months, and then when it was in for it's service and inspection, they noticed the front side radiators were leaking slightly. However, it wasn't dripping onto the floor as it was evaporating off due to the heat.
If there is a smell of 'hot coolant' when you park up after a drive I'd check this as well as the other guy's suggestions.

Good luck.

Shouldnt be burning coolant like that. I would compression and leak down as a safety measure. Last thing you want is a cracked head.
