New Mods update
New Mods update
Gentlemen,
I deleted the old thread. Thought this would be easier to start over.
On Friday morning, Roger completed upgrade to my car from the GIAC Stage 4 to the GIAC stage 4 GT which included the upgraded turbos.
Hands down, this car is extremely Fast! The first time I punched it, it scared the S**T out of me! It is producing 1.3 bars of boost and spiking 1.4. This with my lightweight flywheel, the car revs quickly and has a great of very low end Torque! Like I said the most impressive aspect is the amount of low end torque!
Before the GT mod, my car floored is about the same as my car at half throttle now.
Also the "Cat Sims" I had installed do not work at all, I am still getting Check Engine Light. After speaking to Steve (Imagine Auto) and Todd (Evo) they both recommended removal of the cat bypass and reinstall 100 cell cats. Car is stilll running a little to rich. But should be rectified very shortly. I am going to change out the exhaust and go with the FABSPEED LOUD VERSION.
Now I need Brakes (S**T) traffic seems to move up so much faster these past few days.

Proof is in the dyno... let's see it!
Thanks for the update.
Can't wait to see the dyno as we all know the 'seat of the pants' meter can be deceiving at times.
So, I take it that this means you are not going to compare the Stage IV to the Stage IVGT since you have already upgraded to the GT?
According to the posts on tuners' web sites you should see about 600rwhp, which is about 125rwhp more than you saw on the Stage IV. Your car should really scream now! What number will you personally be happy with?

Do yourself a favor, and go get dyno'd. Your Stage IV was underperforming big time, and you'd never known if you hadn't dyno'd either. Heck, I think for the prices that people pay for these kits, a dyno-sheet should be included.
Orlando, given any thought to a 3.8 litre conversion on the TT? Displacement talks. Even at 1.2-1.3 bar of boost you'd see some significant gains in HP, more in torque. That would put you well past the 500rwhp line easily. Add some higher lift cams, race portwork and standalone (motec) fuel and ignition system, other TT's would be moving chicanes...

Why? If they advertise 600+rwhp, then why would you be happy with 500rwhp? If I spent the money you did on a Stage IV GT, and saw 500rwhp, I'd be pissed as hell.

When is enough a enough??? If you aren't sure this may be the way to find out. Imagine the spool of the K16s but the punch of the shuttle on take off. Think this is an exaggeration, think again. This kit starts with all the knowledge we have gained from kits past. 600HP use to be the norm it isn't merely a stepping stone after this kit was released. We use Garrett turbos specially machined into the K16 housings. We modify the factory wastegates and add all the normal goodies. Headers, mufflers, billet BOVs, air cleaner and a dose of GIACs magic. The result is a nasty 600+HP to the wheels. The owner of this quote realized a real 631RWHP and 649RWTQ. That is 742 crank horsepower and 763 torque at the flywheel. Imagine Auto does... one of their customers got 631rwhp!!! That's awesome. The IAGT is just above their Stage IV, so I'm assuming that it's the IVGT = Stage IV GT... perhaps I've mistaken.

Orli,
Sounds like your car is quite an animal, I am thinking of doing similar work, Turbo's, headers, and exhaust with a custom ECU that can be programmed whilst on the dyno.
The only hesitation I have is that anytime i mention upgrade works to my Porsche Service Manager he states that I will blow the motor and as we all know it wouldn't be coverred by warranty (Not that I give a ****). Is your motor strong enough for all the mod's that you have carried out, also has anyone had problems after they have done the work and if so, in what time frame.
Thanks in advance.
