The install of this system is a little in-depth and takes a good 6 hours or so.

I will be updating it with pics of the install as well.

Can you just run Water to decrease the IAT for resistance to heat soak? I could care less about more power, but I could also care less for the risk of motor going as I've seen it happen before. But if it in fact decreases the IAT's, then why should you have to tune for pure water injection if there is no desire for an increase in power, but moreso sustained power in hot conditions. Would be safer IMO if it could be done and worthwhile for road racing.

Heavy,
Yes, you could just use water and it would do a great deal of cooling to your intake temps/combustion chamber, but to tune for it would be optimal. If one uses too much water, it will lower power...called quench...or worse, bore wash which strips the oil off your cylinder walls. One needs to run alot of water/meth to bore-wash, though, and you'd certainly know you're too rich at that point.
Running a small nozzle to spray before I/C (a 60...super small) and a 120 after I/C or 250 after I/C would allow for some real cooling of intake charge and fend off heat-induced detonation and heatsoak.

When I first installed my kit (SnowPerformance), I took a few runs with Topgun handling the controller. He had the kit come on when I hit 5000rpm and on full boost, as that is when my turbo starts to lose efficiency and build some real heat in the charge. Having the system spray too much, too early, did lower power...it was noticeable, but when we kept it at high rpms and high boost (actually triggered by MAF voltage...measuring amount of air being ingested) with a smaller amount of spray - the car kept power longer and fell off over 6Krpm much less than without the injection.

Now, when I became tuned for the spray, my spool increased by a very noticeable amount and all the other reasons/benefits of why I'm a fan of W/I were realized...

When running my car at the track, there is no heatsoak...no fall-off...same power last blast down straight as the first blast.

Even at a minimum, I would hook a system to spray the OUTSIDE of the intercoolers at a certain boost or MAF level. Anything to cool the charge on a roadcourse will help longevity.

So Mitch....Mitch....MITCH!!!!!!
What's happening with the water-injection?????

Don't leave us hanging with this....

Methanol kits work awesome when they dont fail but if they fail yur in trouble.... I had one on my evo and the pump failed anyways as for the Porsche im gonna try running E85 this season as it is 107 octane rated and hopefully it makes some good everyday power..
